It will be interesting to see if the same key mid west states support Joe, as there is a strong Union influence in the region. The only way he doesn't carry all those states is if he goes to far towards the GND, The Squad etc. He's smart he knows he needs the mods/independents and pissed off conservatives so I don't see him going to radically progressively left. Joe just needs to be Joe and he got this.

He doesn't need to carry those states. The key states could likely end up being Florida and Texas which is a very close race at this time as it has been reported trump can't get enough delegates without both of those states and even then it could still be close but if Biden wins one of those it could very well be over for trump.
 
I think, that with Hillary, there were a lot of factors at work creating a perfect storm for trump....and this disaster for the US

* the nation had a case of Clinton-Fatigue. A lot of that was decades of propaganda by right-wing media. But some of that fatigue was in democratic circles. My wife is more liberal than I am, but she couldn't stand to look at the TV when Bill was on-screen. 16 years of Bill Clinton in the white house? That was tough to sell, even to a lot of Democrats

* she was a woman. Ideally, that shouldn't have made a difference, but it certainly did among some voting blocks, including the huge one of white men

* the petulance of Bernie Sanders voters, Susan Sarandon is a classic example. They either didn't vote or voted for 3rd party candidates as protest votes

* Jill Stein....Russia's stalking horse. As the Green party candidate, she provided an outlet for the bernie-bots and others. He vote totals in Wisconsin and Michigan were bigger than the margins trump won by, and close to the margin he won Pennsylvania by. Those 3 states gave the victory to Trump, and the margin in those 3 states was 100,000 votes when Stein was getting 132,000 votes. And remember those dinners in Moscow that Michael Flynn attended? Jill Stein was there too

* James Comey's late October surprise. That killed Clinton's momentum and reversed it. His announcement of 're-opening' the investigation into the e-mail horseshit was based upon not one shred of new evidence. But it changed the last 10 days before the election enormously

probably none of those factors, by themselves, would have handed the nation over to the absolute corruption and incompetence of trump; but the aggregation of those factors did. That's how somebody who got 3 million more votes lost; that and the stupid, obsolete, and undemocratic electoral college

Joe Biden isn't saddled with any of those anchors. And trump, as president, isn't theoretical any more; he's known and a big majority of Americans don't like him....at all

of course, trump and barr, and rudy are going to do their best to come up with October surprises. They will manufacture scandal if they can't find it....barr in particular. And the Russians will be working OT doing everything they can to keep Putin's stooge in power. And trump and the R's will do everything they can to limit voting and disenfranchise millions of democratic votes because they are unprincipled lumps of shit. They will kill the postal service if they think they need to in order to win.

so, it ain't over by any stretch. One side controls the levers of national power and has shown they have no qualms about pulling those levers corruptly

funny thing is, at this point, all they have against Biden is to point at how he stumbles over words and say that shows he's 'losing it'. Old and deranged. Of course the same is true for the orange buffoon. But the thing is, Biden is known and a big thing that is known about him is he misspeaks all the time and has since he's been in office. It's baked into the equation

A lot of them voted for Trump. I think many people misunderstand Sanders voters (in 2016...2020 is a little different). A lot of 2016 Sanders supporters weren't Democrats or liberals. They were protest voters from the start, glomming onto Sanders as a populist. The fact that he was approaching it from the liberal side was incidental. A lot of them didn't care about his positions on the "liberal-conservative" axis...they mostly cared about his anti-globalist stance, typified by his opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). When Sanders failed to win the nomination, those voters switched to the populist who did win a major party nomination--Trump. Trump was also anti-globalist in his rhetoric, also against the TPP and his talk of "winning the trade war with China" resonated as well.

This year, the vast majority of Sanders supporters were liberals. The ones who switched to Trump in 2016 stayed with Trump. That's why we're not seeing the mass defections of Sanders supporters--while liberals don't much like Biden, Trump is diametrically opposed to their beliefs, so they could never vote for him and they badly want him out of office, which is pushing them to support Biden even if Biden is far from ideal.

Florida is in the bag as is Pennsylvania. Frankly, the election is in the bag.
Unfortunately for Trump I'm going to lead a nefarious group of illegal immigrants into voting about 12 Million fraudulent votes for Biden. We've got an assembly line at the ready to lick envelopes and scribble in dead voters plus Millions of others who will be traveling from precinct to precinct constantly changing our Groucho Marx disguises doing some in person illegal voting. Mu ha ha ha ha. That is unless that genius Trump catches on and warns everyone. I think I saw him in disguise at our last evil planning session.

I listened to a few minutes of it. Since 1968 Dems have had reasons to expect the republicans of stealing elections. Nixon got caught doing it.

Bush stole it from Gore

I'll admit the Dems don't like admitting defeat, but neither do the republicans. Trump would have cried out bloody murder if he had lost and contested it. Hillary accepted her loss and conceded as soon as the results were in.

Trump will cry bloody murder if he loses in the election. He already is

Not being able to handle defeat? What defeat? Gore had a good case going about the fraudulent rejection of votes in Florida when he declared that for the good of the country, he was going to drop the case so we could get on with governing. That's right, Gore dropped a case that he would probably have won for the good of the country. Does that sound like not being able to handle defeat? Now, what other losses are you referring to or is this more subtle sarcasm?

Yes, I decided it was crap after about 20 seconds but watched it for as long as I could stomach for the sake of giving it a fair chance. Finally, I decided like I did when I use to smoke, this is stupid and I've got to quit.

The response is the very issue with the bulk of people today. Sooo stubborn they cant even watch something because they might disagree with it. So they stay in their little box and hang with an echo chamber.

Not gonna learn anything new with that attitude, but then it seems some people with that attitude already think they know everything, so.... I understand the mindest... I suppose.....

I got the gist of the total broadcast from the first 20 seconds or so. There was no more perspective to be had.
Sticking your head in the sand would be to waste your valuable time on tripe like that. You strike me as an intelligent person so why not look for stuff that raises your curiosity instead of loading up on wasted time? Your time is valuable.

Yes our time so sooo valuable that we cant waste it watching a vidseo, but can waste it debating on a sports forum..

The director of Planned Parenthood is a progressive activist. Somebody who works for the Audubon Society is a progressive activist.
