PHILADELPHIA - Two men who police described as 'Trump supporters' who traveled from Virginia to Philadelphia armed with handguns and an AR-15 rifle were arrested near the Pennsylvania Convention Center late Thursday night.

Philadelphia police received a tip about the men traveling in a silver Hummer and alerted the FBI. Around 10:30 p.m. police found the Hummer parked on the 200 block of North 13th Street.

This doesn’t support your assertion of people “trying to shoot up the convention center” The Arizona state capitol had numerous “open carry” dorks strutting around with ARs. It’s the conservative equivalent of LARPing. Where did you learn of their intent to actually shoot up the place?

Not for nothing, but if the large number of voters show up again for the January runoff in Georgia, they can render McConnell powerless.
I think it will be split 1-1 in the runoffs

But I haven’t checked on Alaska lately, the dem running there thinks he will win it

keep an eye on this story:

* " The Trump campaign has been urgently seeking volunteers to call Pennsylvania Republicans who didn't return their absentee ballots to mail them in. It's unlikely to work, but it is election fraud. The deadline for ballots to be mailed in Pennsylvania was Tuesday, Nov. 3. The campaign sent out an email from its Wisconsin staff, saying: "Trump Victory urgently needs volunteers to make phone calls to Pennsylvania Trump supporters to return their absentee ballots.

"These phone calls will help President Trump win the election!" it concluded. The problem is, it can't unless there's a really big conspiracy to get those ballots injected into the system, one that would involve postal workers or the election observers inside canvassing rooms. They would need the postal workers to illegally manufacture fraudulent postmarks on the ballots. Or they would need someone in the rooms where they count the ballots who could smuggle them in and slip them into the process. Nevertheless, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that "dozens" of staff of Wisconsin's Republican Party were involved in the effort to recruit volunteers
."

* " Here’s a key confirmation from ABC News: Not only are the mail-in ballots that arrive after Tuesday being sequestered in Pennsylvania, they have not yet been counted—they’re not part of the current totals. Biden is winning PA without those late-arriving ballots Trump has been screaming about."
********************************************************

* " This seems deeply stupid as it seems to be a solicitation to commit voter fraud," Richard Hasen, elections law specialist at the University of California, Irvine Law School, told the paper. "It's hard to believe this is real." It's more likely an effort to try to spoil all the mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania by injecting these fraudulent ones into the mix so that the Trump campaign could have "real" evidence that there's fraud to boost their chances of getting the Supreme Court to toss out the Pennsylvania results. Benjamin Geffen, an attorney with the Public Interest Law Center in Philadelphia, pointed this out: "If you're knowingly encouraging people to mail in ballots after the deadline, you're encouraging cheating," Geffen said. "But maybe it's just to muddy the waters." He added: "I don't know if it's what you could call first degree misconduct, (trying to actually get invalid votes counted) or just second degree misconduct, trying to create perception the process is riddled with fraud."

Because Trump, his campaign, and the Supreme Court conservatives raised so much hell about the deadline for mail-in ballots being extended through end of the day Friday, Pennsylvania officials ordered counties to make sure those late-arriving ballots were segregated from Election Day ballots, to ensure they were walled off from Trumpian mischief. So you can bet these ballots are getting an awful lot of scrutiny, with their postmarks being closely checked and double-checked.

Meanwhile, a sweep of postal facilities on Thursday found 1,000 ballots in Philadelphia facilities and 300 in Pittsburgh. Since the Wisconsin Republican voter fraud initiative started Thursday, these are probably not those ballots.

This is a deeply stupid effort, so much so that you have to wonder if Sen. Ron “Genius” Johnson in Wisconsin didn’t cook it up. It’s exposing potentially dozens of people to prosecution for election fraud. And it’s proving once again that systemic voter fraud is entirely manufactured by Republicans, to prove that voter fraud is a real thing.

a couple of things....that Covid-extended deadline of Friday instead of election day may be trump's best chance at a win in the Supreme Court. It's not a good chance, but at least one that might get a SC majority. But all those after election day votes are segregated. It will be a simple transaction to toss them. More importantly, Biden is winning Pa. without those votes

clearly, this seems an attempt by trumpsters to poison the well in Pennsylvania. By actions that might actually be criminal violations. But it won't work because of the segregation of those votes

I think we'll probably see a lot more 'after-the-facts' attempts to poison wells by these assholes

I'm not optimistic about that...there was a large anti-trump factor in Democratic motivation to vote. That won't be there, so much, in January unless trump is plunging the nation into a crisis. Which is possible I guess

but is there any question that these will be the two most expensive Senate campaigns in history?

Think the Dems learned their lesson that throwing $ at the race is not the solution after seeing Harrison and McGrath fail miserably

Interesting... but according the NY Times election map there are NO states that have finished counting ballots.

You can click on each state and see how far they are. Some states like California and Washington and far behind the states like Pennsylvania and Georgia.

Just thought I would point that out.

they just spent it on the wrong things

they know now that the best way to spend millions is on dozens of re-animator machines so they can get the dead to the polls.

I wouldn't be surprised if Trump with his lame duck senate and Supreme Court overturn Obama Care, work to overturn roe v wade, etc before January to cause as much chaos as possible as a big fuck you on the way out.

He'll leave an upper decker in the bathroom of the Oval Office.

key to GA is very obviously voter turnout and messaging. both sides will reinforce the importance of senate majority. but I'm hoping the GOP at least tones down their lying post-trump in their ads.

I would like Stacy Abrams as chair of DNC. She sure knows how to get out the votes.

Read an interesting column. Suggested there are three Republican senators who will retire in 2022. One is fellow Pennsylvanian Toomey and another Johnson of Wisconsin. They will be thinking of their future and less likely to stick to Trump. Suggestion was make Toomey Sec of Treasury and Johnson Sec of Commerce. They both have relevant experience. Progressives might be pissed but those who like bipartisan would be pleased, McConnell could hardly block promotion of two Republicans, and Democratic governors would fill their seats.

Biden is a gentleman but sometimes you have to be a street fighter

That would require him actually working. why start now?

He's gonna prep for his new right wing conspiracy network. Already sowing the seeds with Tuker/Hannity.

Beating McConnel and Graham in such deep red states was always near to impossible. The Dems made a big statement in it. It was funny to see Graham whine and complain, the little weasel.

that's why certification deadlines for the states are in late November or December

it takes time to verify a lot of those absentee, military, overseas, and provisional ballots. Count every vote is a slogan, but also a process that requires days to accomplish
