Two way contracts

Boob has a lot of bully in him. He makes it socially acceptable by masking it with stats. But, it's entertaining to skim over his longer posts, so I like him being here. Exercises my skimming skills.

I used to be in accounting, and my eyes skipped over 95% of the numbers on the page till I found the important ones. Good thing I still got all my quickness. You ought to see me run from home base to first base.

What a crock of shit.

I've brought up Christian Wood as someone we should target several times (maybe not in this thread, but in other locations).

He's off the table now, after agreeing to a contract with the Bucks.

Man he would’ve been perfect.

Do teams have to fill their two way spots before the season starts?

Technically speaking teams aren’t required to have two way players.

I know that. I am wondering though if there is a period of time in which teams can choose to sign them, or if they can sign them any time during the season.

Yep. On occasion you can find some good players in GLeague who can come in and make an impact in the NBA.

Wood was there for the taking, but we missed that boat.

We miss a lot of boats. Sometimes I honestly wonder what Neil does every day.

Sorry, I thought the rule was less than 4 years NBA service. Looks like it's 4, or fewer, years.

BNM
So Caboclo plays 1 NBA game next year.. then he has more than 4 years of experience. He's not eligible.

Straight from the CBA:

No Team may sign or convert a player to a Two-Way Contract if the player has or may have four (4) or more Years of Service at any point during the Contract. For example, a player with three (3) Years of Service would not
be eligible to sign a Two-Way Contract with a term of two (2) years.
Caboclo isn't eligible.

Rockets have filled their two way spots. So has Chicago. That leaves 5 teams including Portland with openings. Portland is the only one with two spots. Puts them in good position, just not sure who they’re going to target, outside of maybe DJ Wilson if he gets released.

Id be surprised if NO actually signs anyone to 2way contacts.

For some reason, the Blazers FO doesnt believe the gleague to be worthwhile. We're one of the few teams without a direct affiliate & I believe I heard them say they have no intention of getting one.

I kind of hope they leave those spots empty. I need new reasons to hate Neil, I’m getting bored of talking about the same things.

Olshey should offer it to Meyers Leonard. On top of Leonard's existing contract. So he can slip him a raise.

Suns expected to cut Davon Reed. Another guy worth a look.

Ok here’s my final list now that final rosters are pretty much set

Wings:

Davon Reed (assuming he gets cut tomorrow)
Marcus Georges-Hunt
Deng Adel
Jaron Blossomgame
Kaiser Gates

Bigs:

Deyonta Davis
??

Cool. Can’t wait to not sign any of these dudes.

They’d literally be the only team not to. That’d be pathetic.
Never seen someone so adamant about filling the 16th and 17th spots on a basketball team.

That 16th player got playoff minutes last year. When you have a roster that has as much dead weight and lack of financial flexibility as this one, it matters.

No one is going to want to spend a cent they don't have to before the team is sold though.

He wasn't the 16th at the end of the year. We probably won't have an open spot like last year.

Guess every other team with a full roster is wasting their time then, what a bunch of idiots.

If the warriors aren’t above it, neither are the Blazers.

Yeah, because that's what I'm saying... smh.

It's not a waste of time. Just not crucial enough to get worked up over IMO.

Not really worked up over it. Just something I enjoy. Stick to whatever you like if it bothers you so much.

I'm not bothered. Just saying it's weird your so adamant about those spots to the point that you say it'd be pathetic if they weren't filled.

Already made mine: Deyonta Davis:

Unlikely. Warriors signed him to an exhibit 10 contract. He’ll get a bonus to go play for their g league team, assuming he doesn’t sign a two way with them first.

So, is Davis going to play for GSW's G League affiliate, or not? You seemed pretty sure he would 3 days ago when I suggested Davis as a possible 2-way candidate for POR.
