Opinions on players and basketball is one thing. Generalizing about what you think the majority of the others are this forum think is silly. It doesn't provide any useful information or grounds for discussion. If you think that is what most of the threads on this forum are then you aren't reading them.

Minstrel pointed this out a couple of days ago, but it's worth noting again, our point differential is nearly tops in the West. A little known team, the Lakers, leads the West in this stat. We're second. After tonight, we've increased our differential.

A win is a win. But, to blow out ANY team is a great win.

What's nice about games like this is that the Blazers came out and took it to a bad team. Yes, they should have beat them badly, but also yes, they did. In so many other games the Blazers struggle early and have to fight and scrap for wins....see NY and Memphis recently.

Good win for the team.

At times it seems like we play to the level of our competition and play better against good teams than poor team, which means that if we make the playoffs we're NBA champions.

Generally speaking (and there are many other exo/endogenous variables here), margin of victory is pretty much Hollinger's and every other statisticians most important tool in predicting future successes.

The point of this thread is silly... some people complain (and not just one or two) about every game irrespective of outcome.

BUT THIS DIDN'T JUST START HAPPENING.

It didn't start with S2. It didn't start at BBF, or BBB.net, or FanHome, or ESPN.com, or Oregonlive. It didn't start with BLT or Scotty the Engineer's Blazers mailing list (which I think I started getting in 1994, although it might have been 1992).

In any given population, some people--whether through predisposition or because they're having a bad day--will complain.

It's only natural, then, that some people complain about the complainers, but this board is intended to be about the BLAZERS, and feedback and input--both positive and negative--is entirely reasonable. And while positive or constructive opinions about other posters is a good thing, general whining and criticism of the fan base here is old and lame and tiresome.

When Portland beat Atlanta I wasn't really very impressed by the win. Why? Because until half way through the 4th, Portland was being played even by a really bad team. So I didn't really think it was an awesome win. I also didn't believe it said much about the future.

Portland treated the Clippers like they should have treated most of the teams they played in the last 7 games. It isn't being negative to find that concerning. I am happy as hell that they finally laid an ass whipping on a bad team. I am hoping that this game gives them some momentum for the next 3 games which stand to be much more difficult. But I am still cautious about saying they are now out of their slump. I am waiting for another quality road win. I don't think that is being negative, just rational.
