I watched Monday's Oprah Show w/Tyson on Youtube last night. Watching Mike is like watching a train wreck. You can't stop watching, but you know the outcome isn't going to be good. What a troubled, troubled guy he is. So the big Holyfield reunion is today and it's got me thinking back to that fight in 1997. Watching Mike now, it's like he's a different person these days. I don't know if I buy his new found morality but his show of emotion is definately for real. He deserves forgiveness if he's truly repentant (which I haven't figured out if he is, or if he has an agenda) Does he really deserve all of this compassion though? Since Monday's show aired, there has been an out poor of "Poor Mike . . . " I feel it too. I wish for him to live happily ever after with his new wife & 7 kids (although I don't think that's possible - his self destructive behavior will probably reveal itself at some point) I just don't understand why I'm pulling so bad for him.

"what is: Wilbon's hot tub on a Tuesday night?"

I don't have any sympathy for him at all. Extreme arrogance, blowing millions of dollars, raping women... That said, if he's turned his life around, great. I hope he lives happily ever after, but I have no sympathy.

It's kind of a typical American story with our shit ass media. They love the tale of a nobody becoming big, and making it, then following and harrassing them to the point of a breakdown, loving every minute of the crash and burn, cooling off a bit, and then slowly building them back up again.
It's like taking an athlete, and he comes out of college, and is good, really good, all ofa sudden everyone starts tlaking baou thim. he's hyped, hyped, hyped, and then overhyped, and then begins to get called over rated. And continualy gets called overrated. becomes the most over rated player in the game(Rated by the media), and then people forget about him, and he slowly becomes under rated. And it builds from there. I hate this shit. It's a repetitive cycle though.
