The ghost of Jack Layton might be elected PM tomorrow morning, who knows, but right now it's looking like the new PM here in Canada is Mark Carney, no more interim leader BS. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the counter tariff, dollar for dollar retaliation stuff and think it might age poorly if (when) Trump gets slaughtered in the midterms.

Our politicians are dry as toast, but the campaign Pierre Polivere and the PCs ran, I can't explain it -- they tried out like 4 different types of guy. Glasses on, glasses off, dressing like Jeff Bezos, pro Trump, anti-Trump etc. I've never seen anything like it. Carney got post Love Guru Mike Myers in a commercial and ended whole careers in 37 days.

Also, speaking of ghosts and Jack Layton, the NDP have totally imploded and is now a non-factor. This is relevant because they served as a release valve for "the left" and backed Trudeau at their own expense basically.

Australia followed Canada. Polls had shown Conservative Party candidate likely to win but he started being seen as too aligned with Trump. So Liberal Party came from behind to re-elect prime minister.

Also, six months ago 52% of Canadians had positive view of US. Now it's 19%.
