The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will now have more power to police all food companies under the bill. It gives the FDA unprecedented powers to preclude the public’s right to grow, own, trade, transport, share, feed and eat each and every food that nature makes.

This is a fucking disgrace! How can anyone defend this as positive move for humanity?

I would love to hear from all of you political experts on this one...

If it reduces the number of rat droppings in my peanut butter, or the amount of plastic in my dog's food, I can't really say no to it.

The food industry here in the US is a fucking disgrace.

Fuck the FDA. They are a bunch of bureaucratic shitheads.

Buy Organic, farm to table baby!

The best way is to start locally and promote farmers, instead of massive food additive industries. Corn sugar? Give me a fucking break!

Definitely! Portlanders are in a unique position in that the Willamette Valley provides damn near everything you could possibly want to eat, all within about 50 miles of Portland. There are reasons not to buy organic, local (cost being the biggest)... but if you can afford it, it's definitely worth your while.

On a side note, I've been viewing my quest to find a rancher to get beef from a lot like finding a hookup for good weed: "I know this guy, and he knows the rancher personally, see... and this guy, he can hook me up with some quality ground. 85/15, 90/10, 95/5, anything you want!"

The government always, and I mean ALWAYS knows what's best for you.

Did anyone check the link in the OP? It goes to the Alex Jones website.

OMFG! FDA! FEMA deathcamps! Black Helicopters!

lol! I didn't want to get into it with the OP, but yeah... source consideration is required. :D

Health Freedom: the freedom to have as little health as you like. :ghoti:

...I am still waiting for someone to explain why S-510 is a good thing for Americans?!

OP source or not, you can read the bill in its entirety if you'd like [S-510 text]. The same bullet points exist either way.

OK, what am I getting back to you about...? FOOD Inc. makes me worry about S-510 even more...!

My bad I guesss I should of read up on it before I commented! What was I thinking, having faith in the theory/title of a bill. Stupid me, devil's always in the details.

There is a serious shortage of food in the world and it's only getting worse, this bill looks like a serious power grab. Fucked up:

It would remove the right to clean, store and thus own seed in the US, putting control of seeds in the hands of Monsanto and other multinationals, threatening US security.

look at what's happening in LA now. Garbage monitors, to make sure you are properly sorting your trash.

The Trash Ambassadors make around $70k a year to go around and monitor how people sort their garbage, and they have an administrator making over $100k.

...did you mean to start a new thread with this info that has nothing to do with S-510, unless you're trying to say that the food quality will be more garbage than it already is?
