OK, well answer the question, tough guy. If not sanctions in this situation, what? What would you have him, or Trump if he was in office, do?
The same could have been said about Hitler 80 years ago.

Yeah, Puppet gov for a buffer between Russia and NATO.

One of my favorite bands. Saw them live a few years ago. It was one of the best concerts i've been to. Used to listen to the blue album before going to school. Love ever song on that album.

took me years to like them after the sweater song and Buddy Holly, now they are one of my favorites. Cant believe I let those songs get to me... I even like those songs now sort of.

Not at all! What I've implied is that Biden is huffing and puffing as if he's the big, bad wolf. Sadly, he's not.

You want him to send in soldiers

I want a blitzkrieg of swift and severe sanctions across the board, involving EVERY NATO country, and not this crap of checking back in a month. (It was just the way he said that that made me cringe.)

I really hate it that Germany (and other European countries) relies so much on Russian oil. Creating less dependence is highly problematic. Although, we should open some more of our own spigots as to help out at home.

Maybe the answer is, there is nothing we can really do because it's not a strategic issue for us and not in our sphere of influence. See, generally, the Monroe Doctrine.
If you think that then you're simply not paying attention. I would suggest paying attention.

Thats a complete misreading of history. The invasion of Poland was a warning shot across the bow, as was the annexation of the Sudatenland. They were never part of German history. Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union.

It's a strategic issue. Putin is gaining a stronger foothold in Asia and Europe. He will keep expanding. It won't end with Ukraine. Where will he go next? How strong should we let Russia become?

It is in our interest to impede Russia's further gain of strength. They already just got a stronger foothold in the middle east after we left and now this.

Should we just let him rebuild the USSR?

Man I hate answers like this. "Paying attention." I have a masters in public policy and a B.A in international studies. I pay attention. That's not the issue.

The issue is, as much as I like Ukraine - I had 2 grandparents that were born there - it is not a country America needs to fight or die for. It is not a NATO country. It is not a strategic resource.

I agree lines should be drawn, but Ukraine isn't the line. NATO's eastern axis - Poland, Hungary, and Czech, are the line.

He wants to just do the opposite of whatever Joe decides. These trumpers have no critical thought of anything except "owning liberals"

Trump would have probably just allowed Putin to take Ukraine. They would be cheering him for it.

Trump claims this would have never happened if he were president. BS. If Trump was Prez and sent in troops, they would be praising him, for the very thing they are accusing Biden of (which he hasn't done) and shitting their collective pants over it.

They are going to bitch at whatever Biden does any of which they would be praising Trump for doing.

I actually think Putin might have bitten off more than he can chew with Ukraine, there is a very real chance that Russia cant afford an occupation and regime change. Add sanctions to the list and Russia could be in serious financial trouble. More advancement into other countries might not be a real option for them.

There are several that are now members of NATO and I don't see him taking those countries on, at this point anyway as he knows all hell would break loose. As long as he can have Ukraine as a buffer, with puppet gov, he will may be content?

I'm just saying the people in charge better be fucking paying attention to the bigger picture. It's not hard to see what Putin is up to and what he is planning.

Working to destabilize the U.S. via cyber attacks, fucking with our elections by utilizing our own social media against us.

Trumps administration even admitted Russia was commiting cyber attacks against us and Trump still was buddy buddy with Putin, singing his praises.

Gaining a hell of a footing on the geo political map with the middle east and now Ukraine.

I know sending in troops would be devestating. It could start WWIII

Like closing down their banks and fucking them financially

Like cutting off gas and oil lines

Cutting off other aid

These things are being done.

How about Austria?

Part of me wonders if that's what Putin (conspiring with China?) is actually steering towards.

I want ALL of NATO speaking as a united front. As I mentioned, we shall see.

Probably just cheap oil for China is all. China is quite happy to let everyone tear themselves apart while they sit on the sidelines and watch.

If they want to eradicate western ways with their new world order, they may start/try. They see democracy as a real threat to their tyrannical order.
