Politics Ukraine / Russia

Russia already knows they either deescalate or go to war against NATO & US and its my opinion they probably think its inevitable with the atrocities commented they have zero options but to strike first as they know they would not do well in an all out war against NATO & US. Besides we've already been in a proxy war with them and they play their card of threat, which has worked. This is why we have stayed out militarily in the fight, he would launch nukes first.

Francis Fukuyama: Russia does not begin to have a large enough military to occupy Ukraine and bring Ukraine to a point where they’d make that kind of concession. This is a country with a population of over 40 million, and Putin has already committed the vast bulk of his military.

It’s extremely costly for the Russians to keep up this kind of siege. Every single day, they lose a large number of armored vehicles, men, supplies. The morale in the Russian army appears to be extremely low.

Fukuyama also relates it to world wide politics:
Sargent: You write that Russia’s invasion has already done huge damage to the world’s right-wing authoritarian populists. Can you expand on that?

Fukuyama: A moral clarity has been imposed on populist politics. Many of these populists, including Donald Trump, have been able to pretend they’re really tribunes of the people, that they’re channeling a democratic urge.

But they’re also flirting with an open kind of authoritarianism. That authoritarianism has now been translated into horrible slaughter, where everybody can see that kind of politics leads to military aggression, the loss of innocent lives, and so forth.

That’s the reason every one of them — except for Trump, evidently — has been trying to backtrack from the support they gave Putin.

The admirable and brilliant standout conservative Candace Owens is appalled at how badly Russians are being treated. And Black Lives Matter isn't standing up for Russia! Why? Russian lives matter, she yelled.

The best way to save Russian lives is for Russia to get out of Ukraine but Ukraine had a Pride parade so...

This morning the price on a barrel of oil had dropped another 5% and it was $103. Last week it was at $138. I’m wondering if we will see as sharp a drop at the pump as we all have seen it rise.

I’m in DC this week. Going to try and get a message to my buddy Joe.

An anti-war protester holding a sign interrupted one of Russia's major state television broadcast news shows around 9:31 p.m. Moscow time.

"NO WAR. Stop the war. Do not believe propaganda they tell you lies here," the sign reads.

"Russians against war," the last line of the sign says in English.

On its Telegram channel, OVD-Info reported that the employee is Maria Ovsyannikova. Friends of Ovsyannikova told OVD-Info that she was currently at the Ostankino Police Department in Moscow.

Russian state news agency TASS confirmed OVD-Info’s reporting, citing a source, and added that she could face prosecution.

OVD-Info also obtained a video purportedly made by Ovsyannikova before she interrupted the news broadcast.

"What is happening now in Ukraine is a crime, and Russia is the aggressor country, and the responsibility for this aggression lies on the conscience of only one person. This man is Vladimir Putin," Ovsyannikova says in the video, noting that her father is Ukrainian, and her mother is Russian.

"Unfortunately, for the past few years, I have been working on Channel One and doing Kremlin propaganda, and now I am very ashamed of it," she says. "It's a shame that I allowed to speak lies from the TV screens, ashamed that I allowed to zombify Russian people."
"I am ashamed that we kept silent in 2014, when all this was just beginning," she says. "We didn’t go to rallies when the Kremlin poisoned Navalny, we just silently watched this anti-human regime and now the world has turned its back on us forever, and another ten generations of our descendants will not be able to wash away from the shame of this fraternal war.”

"We are Russian people, thinking and smart, and it is only in our power to stop all this madness," she says. "Go to the rallies and do not be afraid! They can't transplant us all!"

Videos of the interruption quickly were posted on social media shortly after it aired. CNN obtained the video from a live feed from Russia Channel One VK's profile.

Within minutes, that live feed was removed.

I do believe Russian citizens are being treated badly if they protest the war. And one around the world may get harassed. I have neighbors across the street their oldest hs daughter was harrased.

True, but when Trumpers like Owens say Russian lives matter they aren't talking about protesters, they are backing Russia's war.

Trump Says He'd Threaten to Use Nuclear Weapons Against Russia: A Closer Look

Russian state TV calls for REPARATIONS from the US over sanctions: Putin's lapdogs demand return of 'Alaska and California's Fort Ross', threaten nuclear strikes on US, and call for public hangings in Ukraine
  • Moscow-backed pundits have also begun normalizing the idea of publicly hanging Ukrainians who are fighting against Russia's war
  • State Duma member and Kremlin 'spin doctor' Oleg Matveychev appeared on a Sunday news program to she a list of demands 'after Ukraine’s demilitarization'
  • It includes the dissolution of NATO, lifting of sanctions, and extradition of 'war criminals' President Volodymyr Zelensky, Petro Poroshenko and others
  • A Russian TV host railed against the US's sanctions after his two Italian villas were seized, offering a threat of nuclear strikes if not lifted in 24 hours
  • 'You’re the thieves, our talk is short with you: a bullet to the head,' he said

Russia imposes sanctions on Biden and several other people including Hillary Clinton, haha. Tell me Putin and Trump aren't BFF's.
Does seem incriminating.
But as Bill Maher said "if trumper and Pu were buds why didn't he invade Ukraine under Orangemans rule?
That I think is a valid question by Bill.

Because Trump's presidency offered Putin an opportunity he couldn't pass up, to divide America and destroy it or at least weaken it from the inside. Ukraine could wait.
