As a rookie, Rondo had a 14/8/8/7 game in the season before KG and Allen were traded to Boston.

Because KG, Pierce, and Ray Allen are not LeBron or Wade. Both of those players are capable of running the offense. They needed Chalmers to shoot and play defense. He was not the primary ball handler on that team. Rondo was expected to get the ball to KG, Pierce, and Allen. He was the conduit. Chalmers was not.
And Rondo did it and then some. You don't put up near 20/20/20 merely because you have good teammates.

And Tracy Murray scored 50 in a game.... who cares? Players have amazing games. It's about what you can average over the course of a season, not what you can do for one game.

I am not advocating for us to get Rondo. I don't like him either. But lets not forget the guy is 3rd amongst active players in triple doubles. (One behind Kobe) The guy was a "baller". He scored a lot of big buckets in Boston's championship runs. He was all over the floor.

He averaged 20 points a game? and 20 rebounds? 20 assists I can see. 20 points and 20 rebounds? No.

Bosh is not a hall of famer. lol. Lets just make that clear right now.

KG, Pierce, Allen? Yes.

Lebron? Yes. Wade? Yes. (Though I never found him to be that good, that's my IMO, but the consensus is yes). Bosh? No way in hell.

Lets just agree to disagree. I do not feel Rondo is as good as his stats suggest he is. We all know Kevin Love is not as good as his stats, for example.
Rondo had a near 20/20/20 game. Read that link I posted. His stats were insanely good.

Bosh is a HOFer. Deal with it. Wade had the best ever individual NBA Finals series performance in 2006. So yeah, he is THAT good.

Rondo is not good anymore. That's how this started. I said 5 years ago, he was possibly the best PG in the league. Now he's not. Why? Injury and attitude appear to be the main reasons.

Exactly, he played hard and hustled in the 2010 playoffs like I've never seen any PG play like. That wasn't because of his teammates. It was his own desire.

We agree on the "right now."

We just disagree on the "back then"

His playoff totals are 10.8/8.3/4.7 - Not bad, efg% of 48%.

But I looked all over the place, and can't find any mention of 20/20/20 or anything near it.

Rondo was a top pt guard..his assist stats were insane, then same thing happened to him that happened to Deron Williams when he left the Jazz....game went to shit and he became an asshole..I'm not a fan of Rondo as a backup...I'd rather have old Luke Ridnour than Rondo

Why, exactly, and how, exactly is Bosh a HOFer? I don't see it.

Also, I think I mis-read a post you had... I thought you meant a 20/20/20 season, not game. Maybe it was poor wording or poor comperhesion, but yeah.

Here you go, Nate. Rondo's AVERAGES in the 2009 playoffs:

16.9 ppg, 9.8 apg, 9.7 rpg, 2.5 spg

He was a great player THEN. And KG wasn't playing.

Learn the reading comprehension, then post!

OH. See, that's where I read it. I read it as "You don't put up near 20/20/20" and it sounded like season... I see where I got confused.

But Pierce and Allen were. They are kinda good, too, I think. Man, it really sucks to only have TWO hall of famers on the team. TOTALLY debunks the argument. :ghoti:

Again, we'll agree to disagree. I have never been impressed with him, plain and simple.

2 time champion, 10 time All Star and counting. He's a lock.

2 time riding a coattail champion, you mean.

I think he's in the hall of very good, but believe he would taint the reputation of the hall if he were to get in, IMO.

Coattail?? He's a fucking 10 time All Star. They don't win without him. Fuck, he specifically saved their season with the offensive rebound he grabbed in Game 6 vs SA in 2013 NBA Finals. He's a HOFer. Get used to it.

I gave you my explanation as to how I read it.

And good for rondo, he had several good games. So proud of him!
You said you saw no mention of a near 20/20/20 game but it was in that link.

No we won't win 50 games and will not be as experienced as last years team.

We don't know if this team can win close games and that will be a huge factor. We could be in every game, right down to the the wire..... and lose 75% of them if we can't close them out.

Wes, Nic, and LMA all had weaknesses that irritated us, but they all hit big shots.
The one HUGE constant at the end of games will be Dame. But can CJ, Meyers and ........(insert Crabbe, Henderson, or Aminu) step up? It just takes one more IMO.
I can appreciate your excitement, but the reason Dame was the constant, was because other teams had to stay honest on Nic and Wes on the perimeter and did not dare leave LA open down low. Right? These players on the floor with Dame this season will not demand the respect our old starters did......thus, MUCH more difficult looks for Dame this season.

And if Wes, Nic and LA all had "weaknesses" that irritated you guys, how are you guys going to feel this season?

On a side note, I like when I see Aminu up in the opposing players face hounding him and playing out in the lanes......I do NOT want to see him isoed on the wing trying to do his Kyrie dribbling impersonations.

One rebound gets you in the hall? 10 all stars dont mean nothing, IMO, it's all about context. He's been in the east the entire time it's been putrid. Now, if he was a 10 time all star STARTER (He's started in 4 of them) that'd be something different.

Anyway, again, we'll agree to disagree.

I love you, Eric. Go see Rocky Horror Picture Show with me. <3

Nic was not a good shooter last year, and CJ is just as good at 3s as Wesley. And LA rarely posted up down low.

Here are the only 10 time All Stars that have won 2 championships since 1991:

Jordan
Olajuwon
D Robinson
Duncan
Shaq
Kobe
Wade
LeBron
Bosh

That's it. 9 guys. And Bosh is one of them. Deal with it. Bosh is a HOFer. I would bet $1000 on it.

How many 10 time All-Stars are not in the Hall, period?

Great point. Now is Bosh a first ballot Hall of Famer? Probably not. But I'm 99.999999% sure he will eventually be HofF

Ummm no player in the NBA gets OPEN down low. But yes, Aldridge commanded double teams. IF anyone doubles Dame, he has a TON of very athletic very talented players to pass it to that can finish or hit the three. Batum was awful last year. Our opponents wanted him to shoot. CJ is as good a three point shooter as Wes. Meyers Leonard is extremely difficult to guard. To answer your question, I'm gonna feel great this year. We are soooo much deeper. If someone is having a bad game, we have someone else to step in. Not so last year. HCP- you overvalue Wes and Nic compared to who we have now. Aminu and Harkless are both better than Batum. Aldridge was a go to guy in the post yes but he took a lot of bad shots. We are getting better shots this year. ALL FIVE STARTERS FROM LAST YEAR didn't play for us last night and we looked great. Lots of great ball movement. Lots of open shots. Maybe Stotts is the guy who should be getting more of the credit.
