Missed the game tonight - listening to post game and I heard Camby sprained his ankle. They were interviewing LA after the game and he said it was a "pretty bad sprain" and that they "hope to have him in a week".

I hate this season.

The curse of Greg Oden in full effect!

Seriously though, this SUCKS!

Two games in and our starting Center goes down.

Blazers should never have another center on on the roster ever again. We could get Dwight Howard and he would be diagnosed with cancer or aids.

Camby injured his ankle?

I blame Portland's trainers.

:devilwink:

Damn, they said he was questionable to return to the game tonight. Didn't know it'd be a week.

Sounds like Bosh is out tomorrow though.

yeah...he looked like he was in a lot of pain....good thing is roy is back and hopefully we can manage without him

Actually it's LMA who is cursed. He doesn't like to play center and just when he thought he was out, away from the basket to shoot jumpers, they pull him back in!

McMillan said Camby's injury isn't serious and that they're hopeful for tomorrow. Not a lot of swelling.

Bayless sprained his ankle also!

On the foot of a fan no less.

and yes, Bosh is listed as doubtful for tomorrow.

Toronto is already a bad defensive and rebounding team. Without Bosh, should be easy buckets for Aldridge again. If Camby can play, lots of offensive rebounds.

I hope this cheers some of you up.

The last time the Cubs were in the World Series was 1945 against the Detroit Tigers. There is a famous tavern in Chicago, underground Wacker Drive by the Chicago River. The place is called Billy Goat's Tavern. If any of you remember the original SNL skit where John Belushi is working behind the counter and saying "Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger" after a guy orders 3 cheeseburgers. And "No coke, pepsi!" Well, that skit was Billy Goat's Tavern. Though immediately after the SNL skit, Pepsi made them an offer they couldn't refuse and it became "No pepsi, Coke!" I ate there more times than I can count, and the food was great.

Anyhow, back in 1945, the owner of Billy Goat's Tavern took his mascot, a goat, to the World Series game. He bought the goat a ticket and everything... So he and the goat were watching the game, the goat was minding his own business... and the andy frains (ushers) made him leave and take the goat with him.

Ever since, the Cubs have been cursed - the Billy Goat Curse.

We Cubs fans have had to endure the collapse of 1969, losing against the Padres in 1984 in spite of being up 2 games to 0 and a lead in all 5 games and the nail in the coffin being a grounder through the legs of slugger Leon Durham, and more recently Bartman.

The injuries the Blazers have suffered this season are remarkable. Camby is the only old guy in the bunch. Here's hoping it's just this season.

Huh?!? Why would Pepsi pay them to tell people they didn't have Pepsi?

It's the curse of Bill Walton ------- Bill ------ enough is enough - end it now!!!!!!!!!

HCP, can you please give us the update on Bayless and Camby for TOR please!

Don't know anything really. Rode up in the elevator here at the hotel with JB and he says he was fine, but couldn't believe he steped on a kids foot. Camby had a little limp in his step getting off the plane.

No surprises with Camby, folks. He's injury prone. VERY injury prone. He has missed at least SIXTEEN GAMES in each of 9 different seasons. From 2001-02 season to the 2002-03 season, he played 58 games total.

Yes, he blocks shots and grabs rebounds but at 36 years old, at the end of an injury riddled career, he's hardly someone we should be pinning our hopes and dreams on at the center position.

Hopefully, he'll be healthy for the playoffs which is all that matters to me at this point. A healthy Roy will get us there. A healthy Camby will help us do damage when we get there.
