Hmmm. so there are two of you claiming something might be happening with Boston. And Hayward seems to be the most logical choice. I have been in favor of trading CJ and his bloated contract but I'm not sure if this is the best choice. Hate to see Aminu go also. Would much prefer if it was Turner going, even if we had to add picks or young assets.

Then a rumor came out that he was being traded to the Nets.

Hayward has neutral value (at best) on that contract.
That would be a huge OVERPAY for Portland. we would need more value comming back.

Way more in my opinion. Hayward is a role guy in Boston. Up and down performer this year. No way do I trade CJ for Hayward.

This is a key point. During the season, there is a hard limit on how many players they can have on their roster BEFORE the trade. New Orleans would have to make some moves before accepting this kinda deal.
