UPDATE: Blazers will be sending their TV & Radio crews w/ the team on the road

This is a reason we don't like Jody. Not because she is a woman.

We disliked Paul when he fired Mike and Mike too.

One of the biggest concerns was that small market teams can't be profitable. The previous Blazer president and the current one have blown that away. The Blazers have been profitable for years now. This helps to eliminate the chances of the Blazers being sold and then moved. The Sonics moved to OKC because their arena sucked and the team was unprofitable.

The Blazers have continually made improvements to the Moda Center, have cut costs, and raised revenue.

The team is financially healthy.

Yes, the Blazers broadcasting remotely sucks but it's not that bad, IMO.

Moves like this help to cement the Blazers in Portland.

You just lapped up that half full bowl to emptiness!

If the team is financially healthy. They shouldn't be cutting employees salaries. Hopefully they aren't and they are repurposing them with someone else while not traveling.

So I assume they will tap in to some feed and do everything remotely?

Not a huge fan of that, and if it affects our brother THE, in a fiscally negative way, I really won’t be happy

Billionaire owners, or trusts in our case, fucking with hard working peoples money is not ok

Other than potential lost salary, I don't understand why people care

I think this will impact the quality of the broadcast in a negative way.

I can see allowing people with concerns to stay home... But not shutting down the broadcast crew travel all together.

I can't see how this is a GOOD thing for the fans. It saves the team some money, maybe the broadcast crew doesn't mind because they get to stay home more, but it cheapens the experience for the fans without a doubt.

I dont see it as a good thing, I just guess I don't understand how the experience is cheapened.

I hated any broadcast during covid where the teams' announcers weren't there. I understood why of course but it took me out of the game entirely.

So every road game is going to suck now on TV. At least Travis brings it no matter what so I think he can save it, but if I'm watching it on TV it's just not the same. Oh well. Let's go, Travis! You got me for minimum 41 games! (Though I listen primarily through radio so you'll get me for most).

I fail to see how selling the team to a guy who exploited child labor in Asia will help us spend more money on the niceties.
He's been a great owner for the Ducks...

Seriously, I just want the team out of the influence of Bert and Vulcan. Phil would be my #1 choice, but
MacKenzie Scott or Laurene Powell Jobs would be great. I would prefer a commitment from any new owner to maintain a G-League team and WNBA team in Oregon as well.
