Seconded. If there's a time to suck up spending some money now's the time. Give Houston and every other invite a chance to make the team. Hite, Jones, and probably Houston could all help NJ more than Robinson can, I don't care what positive reviews he was getting before the injury.</p>

Ilic has no chance whatsoever to contribute this season; he has no chance whatsoever to be resigned; he has no trade value; and he makes less than $1 million. What difference does it make if he's taking up some imaginary positional "slot" if he'll never even play?</p>

bernard, on the other hand, does have potential value, if no more than as the defensive stopper off the bench if Antoine gets hurt or sucks.</p>

Where am I making him out to be good? For one thing, I've never seen him play, and probably no one else has, either. Regardless, if given a chance, I think he potentially could be a competent replacement/sub--certainly more so than Ilic. He at least had a skill in college that he demonstrated--a solid defensive player--that could translate to the pros.</p>

Saying "as good as" is the same as saying "at the level you are putting him at".</p>

For example, if on a scale of 1-10 where 1 is the worst, if you where ranking him as a 2 when he is a 1, then saying he isn't as good as as you are making him out to be doesn't mean you are making him out to be good.</p>

The Cats were going to cut Brob before they traded him. He sucks. As does Mile, both of whom who will never contribute and are hogging up valuable roster spots. It'll be a shame to let Hite, JJ and Malik go especially how well they've been playing and how bad Brob and Mile are.</p>

definitely agree with you. we're in a tough situation with basically 2 relatively small contract players who can't contribute much at all, and with an owner and gm who will do anything to stay under the lux tax.</p>

I wish they weren't as scared to spend a little more, or we'd have 2 more contributors on the team in case another player goes down, or if we simply need one of those players' specialties (such as good shooting).</p>

if they both suck, would not play and have no trade value like you saidthen dumpy's suggestion still makes more sense because ilic's buyoutwould be cheaper.</p>

but saying that, if both will improve on their strengths, i would rather have ilic's length, shotblocking and medium range jumper than b-rob's quickness, steals and pesky perimeter defense.</p>
