Re: is Bennett still a Duck???

I'd say the odds are 50/50 he winds up with more snaps than Mariota.

Re: is Bennett still a Duck???

I couldnt imagine being an athlete in this day and age when everyone is a "reporter"

The kid obviously was having a difficult/bad day, and who here wouldnt? 1000+ miles away from family, 19/20 years old, and you hit a samoan sized speed bump, in one of your biggest dreams.

Then you read stuff about people questioning his character and how selfish he is(not here... although I can bet a former poster or two would have referred to Bennett as a "Whore" yesterday), when he is obviously torn with a life altering decision of "Do I gamble my future and stay here, but risk not playing much, severly diminishing my chance at the NFL? Or do I leave a place that I want to be (Assuming that since he chose to stay) and do what could possibly be best for me?

this wouldnt even have been an issue publicly 5 or so years ago even.

Bennett on his decision to stay

hell of a lot of respect gained for this kid. He has faced the music and some tough questions. Some mental toughness for him for sure! Lucky and glad to have him on the team!

I typed that last comment before I was done watching. Even more impressed with him after the whole interview. respectful and well thought out kid! Def worth a listen.

Bennett on his decision to stay

Great video. I have a lot more respect for him after hearing it. Sounds like he isn't going to mope around no matter what goes down.

It has to be very difficult for Brian to have to face the media especially after losing something he very much wanted. He's still a kid and I'm sure his feelings were hurt, that said he needs some time to bounce back and I'm glad he's still on the team. Mariota is as we know one good hit away from Bennett starting and we still don't know how good Mariota will be in "real game time".

Bennett may end up the starter, who knows!

Either way the ducks are better off he's around!

I lost a lot of respect for him after seeing the video.

Best line in that video--"With all due respect, if we'd wanted to have a meeting with the media there, we'd have had a press conference." Shut that reporter down!

Props to BB, takes a lot of guts to do what he said.

Though if he DOES transfer, I could see him in either WVU or Michigan. Their system would work for him.

But hey, there's depth on the Ducks QB and I'm happy he's staying
