Anyway, as usual the libs CARE ENOUGH to ban something and then as USUAL one of the lemmings gets pissy (pun intended when someone points put their stupidity.

Just to enlighten you on what it is like to live somewhere that people watch our water usage, I feel like shit (pun intended) when I go into a bathroom with urinals and pee in the actual toilet because I need to use some terlit paper for a "redo" or "comeback" as I call it.

I COULD throw that used tissue in the trash but that seems gross so I flush it.

Here's the thing: I don't care. Would I enact this if I was in charge? Hell no. However, it makes no difference to me. At all. Out of the 1000 issues I care about in the world this ranks about 992nd.

exactly. This stupid idea will result in an alarming rise in the spread of disease (urinals require no actual skin contact by users, and many guys will just piss on a wall rather than wait in a long line) and perpetual waiting lines for women at toilets.

That’s an odd reply to the points I made. I think my post was pretty clear as to why urinals are preferable. My main objective when using a public restroom is to be able to get in and relieve myself quickly and without sitting or standing in someone’s urine. Urinals work better for both. I don’t see that the reason for their removal is explained well in the article.

I think it's only fair to point out that the Portland VA hospital has men's rooms, women's rooms and unisex rooms and none of the unisex rooms have urinals.

Apparently the remodel of the Portland building will cost taxpayers $195,000,000. That is according to an article by kgw 8. No mention of the cost of the restrooms.

Generally I support the Portland City Hall but they flubbed miserably on this one. Now, mind you, I haven't even confirmed that any of this is true so I'm relying on the Millions of participants in here to confirm this kind of stuff.

Not offending people should be a concern. We don't call Black Americans racial epethets, nor do we call native Americans racial epithets. In my office in St. Louis, people referred to Asians as a rqcial epithet. Kind of irritated me a husband of a wonderful Asian lady. Hey, I once slugged a guy for ridiculing my wife's Asian looks and accent. He made the mistake of not knowing I was directly behind him when he uttered his stupid slur.
One time my Asian niece and I were going to a movie. We stopped off at a Taco Bell for a little fast food prior to the movie. About four teenagers sitting nearby made disparaging remarks about her without directly referring to her but the reference was obvious. I explained to my niece in a loud voice that some people harbored resentment to others with different physical features and that they were incredibly stupid and that we should feel sorry for these poor mentally handicapped people. I was so pissed that I was ready for some action although I knew it would be messy.
