Durant is that guy. Somebody needs to tell Billups about it, though.

If Durant was that guy, you wouldn't have to tell anyone that.

LMAO

Rubio turns it over on a behind the back pass in traffic. He a taller version of Da Professor. :)

Durant just took it right at the rim and created his own offense.

As I said, somebody needs to tell Billups to get the ball to Durant.

Why is Odom on team USA? Strange. The guy checks out of NBA games all the time, and he's getting paid. I'm surprised he even gives two shits for USA hoops.

Haha. You lose greasy spaniards. Rudy swatted for the loss.

I don't think they'll cry too much. This was a friendly. I think they'll be surprised they were this close. Didn't the US beat them by 30 the first time they met them in the Olympics?

Considering the athleticism (not to mention salary) disparity between the two teams, credit much better teamwork for Spain for nearly winning.

If Rudy keeps playing like this, Cho will be lucky to get some used practice jerseys for him.

If a 1st round pick is still available, make the fucking trade.

I've always like Garbajosa. Since his injury and the Toronto buyout he's moved over to PF. I think he'd be a great backup PF. And he didn't get totally torched guarding Durant.

I tuned in late. Did Claver get any minutes? And did they say what happened to Calderon? Notice that Spain made their run the minute Rubio and Rudy replaced Calderon and Llull.

Navarro keyed the run. Rubio and Rudy played like shit.

Durant 25/10 on 16 shots and wins MVP of the tournament.

Oden went bowling yesterday. :(

Claver played a few minutes. Probably 5 if I had to guess. Maybe less.

Anyone know where the box score to the game is online? I did a search, but couldn't find it.

So I didn't watch, what was Rudy's stat line and how did he look?

I think this game was the pure definition of Rudy. Spain down by double-digits in the 4th quarter. Rudy gets a fire under his butt and is stealing the ball and getting Spain back into the game (just like he helped the Blazers come back from all of those deficits back in 08/09). Then when the ball is in his hands with a chance to win, he can't create his own shot - even while being defended by a guy whose poor defense allows just about anyone create their own shot - and Rudy can't take advantage and shoots the ball right into the defenders hands. LOL.

It was the Ricky and Rudy show for a while there.

To be fair, it was a broken play. I don't know if he knew he had time to pump fake.

(What was most impressive about that was: Rubio shot, got his shot partially blocked, then followed up and got his own rebound. While every player on team USA just watched him do it. Then he threw a no-look pass to a rather surprised Rudy.)

?

He was being guarded by Kevin Durant. Of course Rudy just can't shoot over him.

That said, Rudy didn't look particularly good. Who knows if Cho will still be able to get that 1st for him in a month. Waiting isn't going to help.

The USA team has a long ways to go. They looked like the same old world teams we have put out there for the last 12 years. A bunch of slashers with not enough shooters. Sure Durant can shoot and Rose is awesome, but I am not liking this mix of players at all. I give them all the credit for being out there when so many others passed, but this team is not very good. Lot of inconsistent players. Gay, Odom, Westbrook, Iggy, Chandler.....this game was ugly. Hopefully they will continue to improve.

Same old story. Too much star play, because they don'i play like a team, because they haven't played together as long as their opponents, because players won't stay with the team for years, because American players' loyalty is to the NBA.

You mean too much star play without having any stars? Because other than Durant, I don't see any stars. You are right it is hard for them to play like a team when you have not played together much. But when your best shooters (other than KD) are Curry and Eric Gordon you have problems. A team of slashers has not worked well for us in the past. We need more shooters to go against the zones. Kobe and Wade came up big. Smitty used to play well for the USA team. This tean worries me.

I mean not enough productive inside passing. They try, but they're all accustomed to being the last link on the chain of passing, rather than the middle link. By star play, I mean shooting prematurely, in proportion to the quality of players who could receive your pass and do something better than you can.

Yeah there is an awful lot of one-on-one happening. Then when they do pass, they have average shooters taking the shot. Iggy, Westbrook, Odom, Chandler. Chauncey needs to step up. But his better days may be behind him. This month should say a lot about how well Billups plays this year.
