USC Loss

Two big losses for the Ducks today, Florida and USC. Now that USC has lost 2 conference games, we have some breathing room, in that even if we lose at USC, we are still in control of homefield advantage for the conference championship.

But the downside, is that our win against them won't appear as powerful to the computer ranking systems, and I imagine they will be coming out pretty pissed!

But dang, we pretty much toyed with Arizona.

Next week is the biggest game of the the regular season. If we lose, we can kiss our natty hopes goodbye. If we win, we're in great shape! OSU does not scare me in the least.

Those were my thoughts when I saw USC losing as well. Let's say that Oregon beats them, and then Notre Dame beats them. Then how good does a win against a 4-loss team really look?

Also, USC has the talent to potentially pull an upset, especially with the fire that the Wildcats lit under their asses.

And while Oregon may have toyed with Arizona, we all know you can't really apply that sort of logic to NCAA football. Notre Dame struggled against BYU, whereas Oregon State handled them. Notre Dame then went down to Norman and won big against the Sooners. That doesn't mean by any stretch of the imagination that Oregon State could do the same on the road against Oklahoma.

4 games left. Ducks need to ignore the polls and control what they can control. I'm not too worried about Cal, but the other 3 games will not be gimmes.

Notre Dame deosn't have the secondary to handle Woods and Lee nor the playmakers to hang 30 on USC.... USC will beat ND by 14 in rubberville!

Yeah, ironically we'll probably end up rooting for USC to beat ND. I smell a Duck victory this weekend!

actually, not really. Oregon beat Arizona & Washington which is factored into Oregon's SOS. What would truly hurt the Duck SOS would be if teams that Oregon didn't/doesn't play (like Notre Dame) beat their upcoming opponents. The main thing that suffers with this USC loss is the hype going into Nov 3rd

According to several media types who are projecting this horserace, if the 4 remaining unbeatens win out, the Ducks are still most likely to end up #2 in the BCS & go to the MNCG. That neither KSU or ND have a conference championship/13th game is thought to be significant
