Utah Workers fired for Illegal Immigrant information

So there is no safe guard for preventing illegal aliens from getting food stamps and other kinds of assistance?

yes there is. If they are not legal citizens or if they dont meet residency requirements (5 years residency) they do not qualify for benefits. Only citizens or those who meet residency requirements can get the benefits. In families where there is a micture of undocumented family members, and citizen, there is a prorated amount of benefits that can be received for the citizen/qualified member.

IE a family of 5 with 2 undocumented parents, but 3 citizen children. After looking at all the income (including those who would not qualify for benefits) If the family of 5 would qualify for, lets say $500 in Food Stamps, they would only receive the prorated amount for the citizens, so in this example $300. Same with allowable deductions, like Rent/Shelter deductions taken into account. If the family of 5 pays $500 rent, the only deduction they would qualify for would be the prorated $300 deduction, not the full amount.

Does that make sense at all? I know I jumbled it together lol

Cool. Thanks for the correction. I didn't know that piece of info. Repped.

no worries, didnt want to come across as saying you were wrong or just trying to jump in your guys' argument/discussion. Just wanted to make sure all the info gets out there

Thanks for taking me to school. It adds a new angle to the article you posted. REPPED

Glad I could help at least a little

So you guys think it's OK for government workers to conduct unauthorized investigations into matters they are not qualified nor trained for?? Why don't we have federal egg inspectors go to stake outs on suspected arms dealers? Why not post EPA officials as border guards?

Compiling the list was illegal and distributing the list to the media was illegal. There are proper channels for this sort of thing.

No, unfortunately there aren't.

No, it makes no sense at all.

Regardless of the amount, the food stamps/money is obviously given to and used by the 2 illegal adults at their complete discretion. They might share it with the children, they might not, but to even hint that they are not using some of it themselves is absurd. This is a felony that you are knowingly abetting.

They are known to be illegal enemies of the state who by law are supposed to face immediate deportation at the least and/or imprisonment here beforehand for the many felonies they are known to have committed (forgery or use of forged documents, illegal border crossing, lying to Federal authorities, welfare fraud, Social Security fraud, i can go on and on...). The government workers who know they are illegal (you?) are committing felonies also by abetting their crimes. There is no law in this country preventing you from reporting these lowlife leeches to immigration, and your failure to do so could and should be used to prosecute you for being an accomplice in their crimes.

Do the confidentiality guidlines apply only to US citizens? I am asking that as a real question. if they do, then these women might not have done anything wrong. If these ladies at the DHS released info on Arab's illegally in the country suspected of terrorism, would they still be in trouble? Illegal is illegal, right?

All known illegal aliens in this country are immediately dealt with and deported. If you know a Serb or a Finn or an English bloke, or a French student whose visa expired, turn him in to INS and he'll be gone within a week or 2. It's always been that way.

The single, solitary exception is the entire Hispanic race, who literally get a free pass to spit on our country daily, drain the safety nets that we sacrificed to build for our less fortunate countrymen, and openly ignore all of our laws. Government-sponsored racism is what it is, and nothing more.

I know its your thing to spew stuff without much knowledge of it, but learn up a little before you run your mouth about people comitting felonies by abiding state, and federal policies. So please read up, or kindly shut the fuck up.

Not trying to be nitpicky. But there are Lawful Permanent Residents who have valid Social Security numbers... but they arent citizens. I'm not saying that the report had them in it... but that would piss me off as a lawful resident, if my info was in this report.

Oh well, they shouldn't be harboring criminals because THAT's a crime also. Since we've now established they are all criminals in one way or another I see no problem in publicly identifying them for the safety of our greater legal populace.

then your complaint is with policy. Not those who follow the policies and laws they have been given.

Okay, I read it.

What's your point? It's nothing more than a list of workplace rules (NO laws) like any workplace has. Who cares?

DHS can fire these people because they misunderstood the somewhat confusing whistleblower guidelines, but they clearly acted in good faith in exposing the criminal conspiracy they discovered was being carried out by DHS management in protecting and concealing and PAYING these criminals. The result of all this should eventually be the conviction and imprisonment of any and all DHS employees and managers who are part of this conspiracy to commit fraud against the US Government. It's obvious that this crime has been committed and now it's a matter of punishing all those responsible. There's a good chance there are bribes, coercion and payola involved.

A strong case could be made in court that they went directly to the public (which IS our government, read the Constitution) as it is well-known to the entire world that the Federal Branches of our government are co-conspirators in protecting Hispanic illegal aliens from prosecution for their crimes. It could be successfully argued that it was their civic duty to protect their country from a government that has basically been overthrown by Mexico and is no longer protecting it's own citizens.

My complaint is with Federal agencies knowingly and purposefully breaking Federal laws, which it's clear DHS has done. They have not only abetted and harbored criminals, they have paid them with tax $.

The whistle-blowers broke no law, only "policies".

The DHS is who is breaking the law.

whats HIPAA? A policy?

"a DHS Policy" is what I meant to type. Cant edit posts on IE 6

The HIPAA Privacy Rule provides federal protections for personal health information held by covered entities and gives patients an array of rights with respect to that information. At the same time, the Privacy Rule is balanced so that it permits the disclosure of personal health information needed for patient care and other important purposes.

The Security Rule specifies a series of administrative, physical, and technical safeguards for covered entities to use to assure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of electronic protected health information.

The Privacy and Security Rules apply only to covered entities. Individuals, organizations, and agencies that meet the definition of a covered entity under HIPAA must comply with the Rules' requirements to protect the privacy and security of health information and must provide individuals with certain rights with respect to their health information. If an entity is not a covered entity, it does not have to comply with the Privacy Rule or the Security Rule.

A Covered Entity is one of the following:
A Health Care Provider A Health Plan A Health Care Clearinghouse
This includes providers such as:

Doctors
Clinics
Psychologists
Dentists
Chiropractors
Nursing Homes
Pharmacies
...but only if they transmit any information in an electronic form in connection with a transaction for which HHS has adopted a standard.
This includes:

Health insurance companies
HMOs
Company health plans
Government programs that pay for health care, such as Medicare, Medicaid, and the military and veterans health care programs
This includes entities that process nonstandard health information they receive from another entity into a standard (i.e., standard electronic format or data content), or vice versa.

like I said.. learn up or STFU

At the same time, the Privacy Rule is balanced so that it permits the disclosure of personal health information needed for patient care and other important purposes.

National Security seems "important", but maybe just to me.

Nearly every significant step of societal progress in this country began with a dedicated citizen having the stones to personally go against current government policy. I believe this is one of times. This case, if the Feds or state pursue it will lead to new legislation forcing agencies to report suspected illegal aliens. Laws already exist on this, but apparently need strengthening.

Can some geek here help Wheels?

His STFU key seems to be sticking.

lol ok Maris you win ;)
