Call the concierge at Circa and make reservations at The Legacy Club. The view is worth the price of a drink or two.

Is sunset recommended? It's like 530pm they say on the website, way early. My dinner rez isn't until 8

Inside or outside? Gonna be 115 degrees

We went at night but we were there in Mar. If you can get sunset that would be cool. It's the very top of Circa so the the view is awesome. The outer deck was closed because of wind but the view from inside was great! Before or after dinner it's the hottest place to have a drink downtown. Night would be cooler especially at that height.

Will prob do 630pm rez outside.

Here is something that doesn't happen every day.

It took so long to get federal tax return I went to IRS app. After getting "processing" for several weeks, found a new message, my return was delayed because I am entitled to a bigger return. About $150 more. Then I got two envelopes. One with tax return, other containing $1400. Not expecting that at all. Covid stimulus? I emailed tax preparer who is upset about mistake although I told him I am not complaining. Today got letter from IRS explaining why I got a bigger return. Still don't know why second check but like I said, not complaining.

So I made reservations for my vacation. Simpson House Inn in Santa Barbara.
We got 0ur state return a month ago. State returns for us usually come well after the federal return. Still waiting for our 2020 tax year federal return.
I'm now expecting to get two checks from the feds with one being much larger than I expected. If this doesn't happen I'm blaming crandc.

Just got back to the Big Island overnight/early this AM. Grabbed our car from Matson (Port of Hilo) this AM.

Looking forward to living and working where I play for several weeks of the summer. With all the comforts of home.

Several friends coming thru to visit over the course of the summer. Should be good times. A lot of the stresses of travels are eliminated. I only need to pack a backpack and my laptop now.

Boss life....

Some days it feels like that; others, not so much. A decade ago (before I spent so much time here), someone tells me they bought a house in Hawaii, I’d be totally blown away. Our house is a solid pad, for sure. But friends have a totally different impression of our house v. the reality.

Love our place, and happy to have it (and I feel it’s a solid investment), but I’ve already had folks get it twisted as far as what our property is and what the value is.

I’d settle for a solid lot for a legit tent and bathroom.

But the life ain’t bad…. :breakdance::cheers::drinkapint::NOTMARIS:

Whoa! How is it my fault?

Got state months ago, small, bur first time in years I haven't owed taxes.

I like my new tax preparer.

Because you've got my lips smacking at the expectation that I will have the same fabulous luck as you. That's right, as usual, you've got my appetite all roused up.

Don't think we're gonna end up going. We really wanted an outside table, and they were all booked unless we got a 5pm and that's too early for our dinner. May have a pre-dinner drink at Parasol up/Parasol down

Herbs and Rye is the bomb! Better steaks, better drinks. Cool place.

Looking like my niece will be renting a big boat on Lake Washington while we're there in late July. Not quite sure what type of boat, but should be fun. We were supposed to go up to a resort on one of the San Juan's, but I guess it hasn't fully opened. I'm a little bummed about that. I was planning on bringing my bigfoot detector.

I always brought super decadent dessert with me and had dinner with cousin and his husband. They just told me they gave up sugar.

I feel unloved.

Vegas Update:
  • Ubers and Lyft are a mess still. Airport rides are flat rate, I'd suggest that if you have any kind of wait.
  • Uber from Wynn to Fremont Street were about 40 bucks each way. Normal fare is about 15 bucks, we only saw that rate once, but we were upstairs.
  • Everything on the strip is way way overpriced. They aren't trying to lure you back with "deals".
  • Crowds are still ghetto. Even the fucking wynn smelled like Weed smoke.
  • Also smelled like Clove Cigarettes everywhere.
  • There were a lot of East Coast guidos. They look like cartoon characters in their overly fancy suits and indoor sunglasses. Holy fuck, now I remember why I avoided the holiday weekends (Jersey shore and NYers tend to invade on long weekends).
  • Encore is way nicer than the Wynn. Rooms are way bigger, less people around too.
  • There are way way too many people on Fremont Street. Just a sea of people, walking around aimlessly. Long lines for drinks at the bars outside the casinos.

Thanks for the update. It's pretty much as I expected, especially the over-priced part. I booked a room at the Trump in August. Much better deal than the Strip properties. I'll probably spend what I'm saving on the room on Uber rides though.
