I am nervous about my trip to Los cabos in august with covid picking back up

Not many Veterans know about that benefit or many others. I can get access to any Federal park and can get to spend I think it's three nights a year at any park that allows overnight camping as long as you make a reservation. My wife and I have used it for a very nice campground along with parking at Beverly Beach. Now, I'm too handicapped to stay overnight or even walk in a campground more that a very few feet. Life sucks and then you die.

I love Cannon Beach, Seaside and Gearhart. My brother, now deceased, lived in Seaside and my parents, now deceased, lived in Gearhart. Try some clam digging on the Beach at the Northern end of Gearhart all the way up to Warrenton. There's a small VA medical facility in Warrenton at Camp Rilea. You can drive and dig for clams, all you need is a clam shovel or clam gun and a shellfish license, all the way from Gearhart to Warrenton on the beach.
If I could walk, I could show you how to dig for clams. I've got a permanent fishing and shellfish license. All you need to do is ask someone how to do it and all the people I've encountered over many years are friendly and only too happy to show you how it's done.

A one day license is $6.50/day for anyone 12 or over. Under 12 shellfish harvest is free.

Razor clams make the best clam chowder. The only part that needs to be cleaned is the gills which are brown. You also should discard the end of the neck is a darker color. Most people eat the gills without knowing it but I find the idea repulsive.
Potatoes, parsley, clams cleaned and cut into bite sizes, whole milk, half and half equal in quantity to the whole milk, a pat of butter, salt and pepper to taste, we add chopped celery, chopped onion and a tad of minced or mashed garlic.

Couldnt ask for a better resort honestly. They make sure you’re taken care of. Foods been top notch. Couldn’t ask for a better place.

We’re staying at the Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas. Originally we intended to do the adults only next door but we had to reschedule because we decided on a longer stay and the other one got sold out.

There hasn’t been a cloud in the sky the whole trip.

Gorgeous woman but after 41 years of marriage you can believe I met the woman of my dreams. Took a lot of work and a lot of give and take, mostly give in my case, and here I am as happy as a clam at high tide. Even girls in their early 50s, no matter how good looking, look like they could be my daughter. Only have eyes for my beloved.

Spent the last three days snorkeling around the various spots around the Big Island with friends. Went all the way around and then some. Survived, seen more turtles than I’ve ever seen, octopus, manta rays, even sting rays. Eels. A fucking whale shark. Another reef shark.

Been amazing. The reefs out here are revitalized after the COVID closures. Rather meaningful.

By the way, still one of the best spots to hang for a day on the big island. Warm. Pretty. Lots of ladies. Close to lots of ish.

She waits on me hand and foot. She always has but now that I'm disabled she waits on me more than ever even with her two bad shoulders. Here's the amazing part, she claims to love taking care of me.
Last night we argued over whether she should put me to bed or not. I said no and she said yes. She won like she wins everything.
All I have to do is be good to her family and she is in heaven. It's easy for me to be good to her family since they have taken me to heart and caring for others, especially my family was the way I was raised and ingrained into my being.
Our biggest argument? Who loves who the most.
Sorry to go on and on but I'm crazy about her.

I loved the big island. We stayed in some upscale condominiums. My niece, Kristina, was adopted as a baby in Korea. Her mom is my defacto sister and my wife's closest friend. Kristina has a cousin who owns the condo so me, my wife, my sister, my niece and her friend invited us to stay there with them. My wife and her best friend went shopping and left me to sit in this shopping center with a long bar along the ocean bay. I struck up a conversation with this guy who was the Hawaiian Iron Man team coach while we watched them swimming out there in the ocean near the huge cruise ships. We also drove around the island trying to see the volcano but they had the area blockaded because of all the fumes at that time.
Went up the mountain to see the Keck.
Fruit everywhere. Got my fill of delicious papayas with lemon juice and mangoes cut up and served with breakfast cereal.
My only disappointment was that I couldn't find a place that served a hollowed out pineapple with a Singapore sling in it and a paper umbrella on top or a hollowed out coconut with dry ice in it along with some sort of tropical drink. Such drinks should come with swizzle sticks and straws that glow under a black light.
I've got to show a picture of me and my wife decked out in our Hawaiian attire that only an ignorant mainlander would put on. Straw hat, sandals, puka shell necklace (the cheap kind), sun glasses, loud Hawaiian shirt purchased at Hilo Hattie's in Hilo and cargo shorts, oh, and a shit eating grin.
 
Drove to central CA coast for a quick vacay with the FAM. Went along the coast through Newport Beach, Malibu, Ventura, Santa Barbara to San Luis Obispo where we went for a college tour for the young one at CalPoly, did some kayaking in Morro Bay, enjoyed the beach life in Pismo Beach and drove to Pine Mountain in Los Padres national forest for some hiking and general forest activities. From there to Los Angeles and some urban exploration before coming back to San Diego. I always liked the San Luis Obispo area and it is still one of my favorites.

I usually dig butter clams, little necks, cockles and the like just north of Tillamook I think in Bay City. My wife uses a garden hand spade while I used to use a shovel. You have to keep anything you touch. Same with razor clams.

You don't need to stomp unless you're very near the surf. The little hole is vitally necessary to decide where to dig. I always dig slightly toward the ocean side of the hole since that's where they're going to head when they sense danger although mostly down.

I've dug lots and lots of razor clams and found the shovel to work best. But the gun is good if you've no shovel to use or you're a beginner. Either work well but the shovel is slightly better.

You can crack the shells or cut clams in half more easily with the gun.

Damn, I haven't been clam digging in decades. Love to dig the clams, clean them and make clam chowder as soon as I get back to the house which was maybe five minutes when my parents were alive and living in Gearhart. They also had all the clam digging gear.

Now that I have a lifetime shellfish license I'm too handicapped to use it unless I want to bring the wife because anyone can dig the clams for me by law but she is not very good at digging.

Take my advice and take your significant other to Ray's Boathouse for dinner. Try their grilled King salmon cooked medium rare. You're going to love that place. Hands down the best seafood restaurant in Seattle or anywhere else I've been for that matter. Valet parking.
