We'll be traveling to NYC over the long Thanksgiving weekend. I've never been there. My wife has been there a handful of times. We'll be staying at the Hilton Conrad Suites on 54th midtown, so we'll be right in the heart of the action. We have a bunch of stuff planned over the 5 days we'll be there.:

Tavern on the Green
Central Park carriage ride
Greenwich Village
Manhattan Transfer concert @ The Blue Note in Greenwich Village
Times Square Church
Times Square
5th Ave. window displays
Top of the Rock tour and sunset view from the top
Bryant Park
Dyker Heights Christmas lights & Manhattan bus tour
9-11 Memorial
Wall St.
Plus, lots of good eating.

As mentioned, I've never been there, so, hopefully, this trip will capture a lot of highlights in the city.

BTW, @SlyPokerDog has nothing on my wife when it comes to the travel deal. We're getting a $700/night suite right off Central Park for 4 nights for........free. That's right, Ef. Are. E. E. Free! And not time-share presentations, either! She pulled it off using our Hilton Honors concierge. Don't ask me how. Oh, and we're flying for free, too, using SW Air points, and our companion pass. Eat your heart out, Sly!!

Only in Vegas. It's good upscale fusion asian food, not cheap. Hip atmosphere.

I'm more of a "go to Chinatown and get NY style Chinese food".

I went here last time:

OK, we'll be downtown on Monday. I'll keep this place in mind!

We'll be doing this for sure....

Honestly, its nothing special as far as chinese food goes. Its just interesting about NY style chinese food, or americanized chinese food. If your wifey is more picky and likes upscale, Tao would be an interesting experience.

Don't forget to go through Little Italy too.

Tiffany's on 5th ave was worth going inside. Get some hot chocolate in there. Rockerfeller Center and the area around Saks is a fucking nightmare sea of people. Just kind of choose when you go there smartly, to avoid the crazy, insane crowds.

Most of it and then we added a bunch more. We fit a lot into our day. Some plans changed, we met up with friends too, just texted when we were in town, etc.

Oh yeah, at the Mandarin Oriental they have a restaurant with a dope view of central park above Columbus Circle. Good breakfast, but its not cheap. They also have tea I believe and a bar there too. https://www.mandarinoriental.com/new-york/manhattan/fine-dining

Don't forget your vaxx cards I think you can't dine inside without them

Interesting. Our hotel is an 8-minute walk from Columbia Circle

If you want to eat good food, quick and easy, go to the food court at The Plaza hotel

We just might. We' have reservations at the Tavern on the Green the day we arrive. But, we may not get there in time. This sounds the the perfect backup plan!

I don't see the Empire State building, the Statue of Liberty, Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, One World Observatory aka the Freedom Tower, Central Park, the Chrysler building, Grand Central Station, the United Nations building or Columbia University on your list and those are only things I could think of on the top of my head. I've seen all of those except Columbia U. We also enjoyed a large Korean shopping part of town right across the street from the Empire State building and a Chinese produce district in lower Manhatten. We also saw Wall Street itself. Never done the carriage ride which looks so cool. Been all over Times square including late at night when I was in the Army. Had a street walker appear out of the shadows asking me if I had a light for her cigarette. I replied "no mam, I don't smoke." What a hayseed. Been to fifth avenue, Greenwich Village and Times Square church. Whatever you do don't miss out on buying a slice of fabulous pizza on many of the streets in mid Manhatten. I still salivate at the memory of eating that pizza. Their street corner hot dogs are also pretty damned good.
These days if you get stopped out of the shadows late at night, get the hell out of there.

Very nice, Lanny!

Oh, I forgot to mention that we're going to see Wicked tomorrow night. We roll into NYC tomorrow afternoon.

That's the jersey! I really think those are sharp! I've never been to London but I have friends from there that told me the Indian food is amazing in that city...

It is, but the wifey hates Indian food, so no chance. I had it last time I was there, really good stuff.

London is really nice, Christmas lights everywhere, good vibes.

@ABM - How was Tavern on the Green? For all my trips to NY, we've never been there. Worth it?

It was decent. We went there directly upon arriving in town. Could only get a 3:30 reservation, so it was a late lunch. I had a salad because we were going to Wicked that same night and knew we'd be eating dinner later. Pretty over-priced food, but that was to be expected considering the location and history of the restaurant. My wife's turnip soup was incredible. All in all a B+ experience.

That said, our best meal was at Fraunces Tavern, which is the oldest continuously operated restaurant/bar in the US. George Washington gave his farewell speech following the Revolutionary War from the 2nd floor balcony of this building. It's in the Financial District. Looked to be a watering hole for Wall St. types. The food was amazing:

Old farts here. We're gonna see Billy Joel in January @ Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Ft. Lauderdale. Never been there. heard the venue is amazing.

Took the fam to Honolulu for vacation and visit family there and was in the midst of a rainstorm. Sky didn't clear up until Wednesday. Water was in the low 70's but we swam anyway.

The water is toxic after a big rainstorm in Hawaii for a few days after
