Check out travel packing cubes on Amazon. You can get a set for $20 and they organize and compact your clothes really well. I was meh on them but my wife got them anyway for us on our last trip and I loved them. Made things really easy.

I got some made by my suitcase brand (Monos). Expensive like $80, but they are designed to fit the suitcase perfectly

We'll be staying in Kihei (Maui). Anyone been/stayed there? It's a free timeshare stay, so we're going with that.

Going to Florida, a few nights in Crystal River, St Petersburg. A week up in the panhandle. Still have a few days to fill.

When will you be there?! If you get over PCB way in mid-April let's have a beer!

Kihei is nice, it's more of an area than a town though. Renting bikes or e bikes and cruising up and down it is a blast. Lahaina is the cute beach town we pictured when we booked, I would recommend checking out Lahaina for the day at least once. Also the fun of Maui for us was driving around to all beaches and finding ones that had almost no people or some of the self guided snorkel spots.

Nice! That's what I was hoping for. Thanks for the great tips! I love the e bikes idea! I see there's a Safeway nearby. We have a full kitchen and will probably be mostly eating in.

Florida’s a hell hole. Have fun with that

The panhandle is absolutely the friendliest place I've ever visited. Such warm, sincerely welcoming people in every interaction I have had. My brother-in-law lives there and we've spent some time there. We'll be scouting some areas for vacation property this trip. Haven't been much farther south than Panama City, and I would expect there's a lot of cartel crime the farther south you go.

it has nothing to do with politics. Weird ass people, too humid and too many bugs. I’ve been there a couple times. Strange vibe

I’ve had a few friends move there and they really love it, but I imagine it varies depending on area.

I’ll admit though, when you hear stories about people on bath salts eating other people’s faces off or quadruple homicides being committed over a rock paper scissors match, Florida is the first place that pops into your mind.

Friggin' New York transplants. We're trying here.

Seriously, though. Florida is still the South.

We got a deal on a Ford Escape from Turo. I've never rented from them before. Apparently, privately owned vehicles. The pickup is right near our resort, so easy peasy there. We'll just get an Uber or such from the airport the day before. The vehicle was only $330 for most of the week, so why not.

Often times Turo will drop the car off at the airport and allow you to leave it there as well.

Heading down to the Grand Canyon, Arches, Zion and Canyonlands over spring break. Never been before
Did that trip a few years ago. Hit Bryce Canyon--way better than Zion.

Kahului (airport city) has the Safeway, as well as a Costco. Buying groceries and eating in is definitely a way to go, but half the fun of vacationing is checking out some local fare. Fat Daddy's Barbecue is in Kihei and is worth the effort.

If you're looking for activities in Maui, I highly recommend doing the bike ride down Haleakala. Very low effort (all downhill), very fun experience. If your bike tour stops in Makawao, get some poke from the Rodeo General Store. Also, if you take the road to Hana, stop at Uncle Harry's for "Mama's malasadas"--best I've ever had (yes, better than Leonards for those to whom that means anything).

Thanks for that! Will definitely check out. Thus far, the only dinner reservations we've made is for Kimo's in Lahaina. Looked like a cool ocean view spot.
