Weather was perfect for us. Sunny the whole time, not too hot, not too cold. Got up to the high 80s and high 60s at night.

Got an upgraded room (used points for this) in Barcelona.

Hotel balcony in Ibiza (we had a hot tub/jacuzzi tub out on the deck too!)

That looks like a pretty badass spot. This was a honeymoon trip for you and your wife, right?

My son in law and granddaughter are in Phuket right now feasting on the food...they are stopping there on the way back from Singapore and will head home to San Diego soon...I really could do with some ocean front Phuket dining about now.

I think our next trip will be in Asia. Maybe targeting Japan. My wife hasn't traveled much, but Thailand is one of the places she has been internationally (other than Mexico) before meeting me.

I may want to do a Paris at Christmas time trip later in the year. We'll see though.

At the airport, I got a Royale with Cheese from McDonalds.

Eating out is so much cheaper out versus the US. Also, you can tell the food is way healthier and less preservatives/processed foods.
I'm seriously considering wintering in Asia when the world settles down a bit. I love the food in Thailand, Japan, Vietnam and Taiwan best. Mainland China uses cooking oil till it's way beyond rancid and washes dishes in dirty water....India the same....gotta be careful eating in those two countries.

I really need to go to Hong Kong again before it goes full-on China. Thailand is pretty intriguing to me too. Vietnam, I'd probably have to have my cousin that lived there in Hanoi come with us, just to show us the ropes.

I'm afraid it's too late....still has great, great food though...just not the vibe it used to...it's a great place to eat...lousy place to sleep...best fried noodles and roast duck and pork on the planet in my view though.

Booked a 3 day weekend in July for Vegas at Encore. Got a great rate from their promo dept, but we may cancel because we were gonna watch my Wifey's nephew in a ninja warrior competition but he broke his arm playing baseball.

Dunno, Vegas was a bit ghetto and crowded last time I was there, so not too keen on it. Looking for alternatives.

May do Vancouver, Canada. May fly to Seattle and drive over so we won't have to do a covid test.

May look at other options, maybe Nashville, maybe Cabo.

Do Victoria instead of Vancouver.

Been to both many times, I like the food options in Vancouver better, as well as the shopping, and the vibe. Vancouver is probably my favorite weat coast city to visit.

Looks great! My sister is on a trip that goes through Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, and London right now. She left last Friday.

Those are great because you see everything. A little tiring, but worth it

Holy shit, airfare prices are jacked the fuck up this summer.

Best value for that July weekend is either Memphis or Mexico City.

So back from Espana. Have a bunch of thoughts.

Ibiza was beautiful, hit up Formentera. Water was so fucking clear. The hotel was awesome.

Barcelona was great EXCEPT for the 3 incidents where they tried to rob me.

1. We were on a Rickshaw tour, I asked him to take us to a statue by Fernando Botero that was located in kind of shady neighborhood (El Raval). On the way back, the driver said we were being followed by a few guys on scooters. Apparently they had seen my watch. I had him drop me off in La Boqueria market and we lost the scooter guys there.

2. We were walking back from dinner in a nicer neighborhood (the Born). On a street, some young guys started coming up to me and tried to high five me. Then tried to stick his hand in my front pocket where my phone was. Told him to get the fuck away, and they did.

3. We were walking back from dinner the last night. A block from our hotel (it was a nice, 5 star hotel). I noticed that two guys were pacing us behind us. I kind of stopped, then tried to let them pass. He spoke some foreign language I didn't understand (I think they were North African/Morrocan) and then grabbed my watch on my wrist and tried to rip it off my wrist. Also tried to get into my pocket, which he ripped. I started swinging and he ran across the street and we ran back to the hotel.

Barcelona is shady, be careful out there!

I'm going to Barcelona on June 15th for the start of my first Eurotrip, so this is great to read.

Definitely do this:

Best way to see this Gaudi building. Concert. Drinks. Interactive shit.

This is the Rickshaw company we used. Its a great way to see the city without tiring your legs the fuck out.

I thought the all city tour was a bit rushed. I'd buy tix to Sagrada Familia and Park Guell separately if I were you.

This hotel had a badass roof across from the Old Gothic Cathedral. No admission, just need to buy a drink.

If you are there on a weekend, go to the Magic Fountain show at Montjuic. Its really awesome.
