Looks like two weeks in Queretaro Mexico at the end of January. I'm kind of broke because of our upcoming wedding trip but I can do Queretaro on the cheap. $350 a week for really nice boutique hotels in the Centro, can't beat that! No real plans other than just hang out in the nice weather and do whatever, which will include a few trips to the hot springs.

Wife has been in Taiwan for 2 days now and will spend a couple months with family....they offered me a free ticket but I have things to take care of here now and can't travel that far yet. She's having a blast....eating all the good food and having big family reunions and feasts. Wish I could have gone but it's not my time. I have granddad duties for now and chickens that need caring for. She's going to ship me a huge stash of high mountain green tea....the best on earth and I'm thrilled....used up the last of our Taiwanese tea a month ago. The stuff you get here in the asian market is not the same at all....I'll probably take a weekend trip to San Luis Obispo soon and see my grandkids there.

Strip or downtown?

Where ya staying?

TI. Doing the strip/fireworks.

Going to Oscar's steakhouse at the plaza on Friday night.

Saturday trying to keep everything within easy walking distance. Gets cold and crowded.

On the 31st, have brunch reservations at Lavo.... nothing for dinner yet. Lots of stuff booked. Maybe Mexican food.

Flying out to the big island tomorrow! Will be there through Christmas

1hr out from Puerto Vallarta. Nice 4 day trip, then Vegas for 4 days, lol.

Black Friday specials were good this year for traveling. $39 from PDX to Phoenix, then $49 from Phoenix to Puerto Vallarta, then $49 from PV to Vegas, then $39 from Vegas back to PDX.

Circle of Life Fun.

First day in Queretaro is great so far. Looks like 80s and sunny for the whole visit. Think Ill schedule a massage to celebrate.
You watch Tangerine Travels on youtube? They're based in Queretaro.

No, never heard of them. I'll check it out tonight. I follow a couple on Facebook (two expats), who lived in NY then retired to the Yucatan, and now have relocated to Queretaro. We are looking for some day trip ideas.

The mountains are great by the way. So much cheaper than the beach areas, food is better and not so many idiot tourists to deal with. Our boutique hotel is fantastic and is only $70 per night.

They broke up and now its just the girl.

The guy is a fucking cheapskate, lol, if you ever watch his Vegas videos.
Yes, they broke up but he bought her out. He got a gf in Mexico who is a doctor. He is doing better than Maddy is.

I like Maddy better, seems more down to earth and authentic. The dude just seems shady but prob more business minded.

My daughter in San Diego is going to buy a second home in Mexico...they are looking now for a vacation spot...hopefully we'll have a family get together there once a year. She's taking her time but her house in Carlsbad is paid off now and they want to have a Mexican getaway.

I think she's looking much further south than Baja....they've been taking research trips and her husband travels all over the world for a living so distance isn't a deal breaker....my granddaughter will live in the San Diego house when they are in the south. My daughter and son in law are fluent in Spanish so they feel at home there.
