Why do people need to put down a player to make the player we chose look better? I watched Miller. Looked like a kid 12 months removed from HS playing in his 1st pro game. Nobody in Charlotte is upset after this kid put up 18/5/3 in 30 minutes.

All I'm seeing is upset Hornets fans. Where have you been looking?

So your best evidence is two guys who DIDN'T want Miller, but really wanted Scoot?

I was reading their board and the summer league thread on RealGM. Hornets fans are cursing Jordan and saying they should have had Scoot.

Why do you think he was trying to counter you by posting the video?

I mean, that makes them even better evidence.

They didn't want the guy and they said he had a good performance / weren't upset.

You can also look at the comments on that video.

Because he loves putting down Scoot and loves propping up Miller. I like those Hornets guys. Especially the dude with the long hair.
Once again, I've never "put down" Scoot as a player.

I said players like him usually don't win championships. I didn't say he sucked. I didn't say he was bad. I didn't say he was going to be a bust. In fact, I said he's probably going to be better than some of the players I prefer, but less likely to win a championship. I have been critical of his weaknesses, just as I have been with Miller's. But the Scoot dick-sucking club always comes up with a bunch of excuses that cause longer conversations. When I'm critical of Miller, since he doesn't have a dick-sucking club, people tend to agree and it gets lost in the digital abyss.

And I never really "propped up" Miller. I said I preferred Amen to him and most likely Whitmore too, but if we were keeping Dame, I preferred Miller over Scoot (or Amen), and I've been critical of Miller's game too, particularly his dribble and ability as a PnR ballhandler.

Again, it's so weird when people say this type of player can or can't win a championship. It's a team game and ultimately matters who the player is surrounded by. It doesn't even sound like Brandon Miller would have gone to the Blazers at 3.

There's a reason why so many are excited for Scoot.

It’s almost like Aldridge never left.

Also, get the cameras ready

1) Yes, I said this. And I said that's part of why I'm not particularly interested in Scoot. Teams want to build around him. If you were building around another player like Jayson Tatum and adding Scoot to the mix, fine. But if you're going to build around a point guard - teams rarely win championships that way. And you act like this is a "Scoot" thing. I've been saying this same thing about Dame, and getting heat for it, for years. Do I think Dame sucks? No. I just don't think, and history suggests, building around short players isn't a realistic path to a title. Damn near every championship team has a top 5 player who is at least 6'6, so I'm drafting those guys until the cows come home even if we suck for 20 years straight. I also didn't say he can't win a title. I said less likely.

2) Ok? I guess we'll never know ... and I still said I preferred Amen, which is another reason I don't understand why you're on this Brandon Miller train. Weren't you the one trying to rub it in my face when the odds switched to Scoot at 2? How'd that work out for ya, old sport?

They aren't upset YET.

Worked out great, actually. The Blazers got my guy and I didn't waste endless hours of shit-posting on a 19 year old top prospect like yourself. lol

BTW, the Hornets fans say Kupchak wanted Scoot but Michael Jordan overrode him and took Miller. We know Jordan's history on drafting.

You're not in good company, my guy.

The NBA revolves around superior talents.

Centers don't win championships. Jokic.
Point guards don't win championships. Curry.

That wasn't 20 years ago. Those were the last two championships.

I didn't say centers don't win championships, so I don't know what Jokic has to do with this conversation. Pretty sure Jokic is a top 5 player, over 6'6, and not a point guard. So, what's your point?

You do realize part of my issue with shorter players is that you can stop them by putting a bigger, athletic defender on them, like Aaron Gordon on Dame or you can double them and it's really hard for them to see over a double team and it forces them to give up the ball. Can't do that to a center. And while I don't think they're a super valuable position, I've said multiple times, the only time I'm interested in a center is they're legitimately a top 3 player in the league. I also said that if Scoot is to prove me wrong, he'll have to be damn-near the greatest point guard of all time -- like Steph Curry.

And for the 10,000 time, I said Steph Curry is one of the (3) exceptions in the last 30 years. The others being Tony Parker and Chauncey Billups. I'd hardly consider the Spurs built around Tony Parker, but for the sake of this conversation, we'll go with it.

Fun little thought experiment:

How many point guards are on this list?

Jokic
Curry
Giannis
LeBron
Kawhi
Durant
Durant
Lebron
Igoudala
Kawhi
LeBron
Lebron
Dirk
Kobe

Those are the last 14 finals MVPs. 1 point guard.

And finally, I agree the league revolves around superior talent.

However, superior talent includes height.

As I've said before, and I'll say again.

Michael Jordan said his brother was better than him, but he was short. He said (paraphrasing) "If Larry was a few inches taller, I'd be Larry's brother".

Kobe said, "We're lucky Allen Iverson isn't a couple of inches taller, or else he'd be the greatest player ever."

So all us keyboard warriors might not think height is important, but two of the greatest players of all time blatantly acknowledge that height matters and I'll take their word for it.

As well as all the historical data shows that bigger players are more dominant and harder to stop / slow down / whatever you wanna call it.

As a favor to everyone else, this is my last post on the topic. I'd like to move forward, but I'd appreciate it if people stopped making shit up that I didn't say.

Is it just me or was Bari throwing shade at Dame in that interview?
I didn't think he was. Not his style and I thought he was just talking about the summer league team needing a true point guard.

I’m equally excited to watch Rupert.

I think he’s got potential to be looked back upon as a total steal. With Murray and Scoot the Blazers could be seen as the unanimous winners of the draft even with SA getting Wenbenyama.
