Venus-and-Jupiter-Appear-Closest-US-Aug-18.jpg

Two of the brightest planets in the sky, Venus and Jupiter, will snuggle up next to each other and will eventually form a glittering "double star" in the eastern U. S. The planets will appear to be closest to each other on the early morning of August 18.

According to experts, Venus will appear to be much brighter than Jupiter, although Jupiter is much larger than Venus. The difference in the brightness is due to distance. Venus will be much closer as compared to Jupiter, so Venus will be seen brighter than Jupiter.
