Yeah I was watching this and I felt it was ridiculous. As a hip hop head I find it funny that there were some songs on there I had never heard of.

Also I felt like Master P's "Make em say Ughnnn!" shouldn't have been on there. That song is exactly what is wrong with hip hop. Not inspirational, not revolutionary, not a classic, not even on the radio anymore.

In middle school, whenever I did watch music videos on TV, it was on MTV. VH1 has always sucked.

One more thing I thought the list was semi-decent. I'll explain why:

You have to expect the modernized crap hip hop to be included, I think they touched on alot of stuff from the late 80's tot he mid 90's. Its like a balancing beam, and even though on an overall standpoint big networks will fail at these sort of lists, Its not like they had In the Club as #1 and they did a mediocre job if you whiff away all of the mainstream, force fed stuff.

I'll take a guy talks about something silly or simple over bitches, 40's, grills, and weed. Could they have thrown in a little more of the educated, newer stuff thats a tad underground. Sure, but I'd rather take that then listening to some retard tell me how Ludacris is nasty, when in reality, rappers like that come up with computer generated club banger beats and repeat words until there is some sort of catchy vocal melody.

I do agree with you that acts like Roxanne and crap, shouldn't even be discussed with such a list. But I rather that then someone lying to me and telling the fans that modern hip hop is gold. Again I am pretty knew to the genre, I'm not going to lie. I am no hip hop expert, but every time I hear a dirty south rap song (for instance) I want to kill the person who created it.

whoa whoa, no, no. I'm saying neither ends of the spectrum should be included. 85%-90% would be chosen amongst the "golden era." I'm saying that the older acts are overrated because they were the origins of the genre, but that it really was improved beyond them. Recent commercial acts are just garbage. However why not put recent acts on the list if they're Little Brother, Restoring Poetry in Music / Panacea, etc?
