Well if they went and changed every law to be exactly what you wanted tomorrow it wouldn't bring your kid back either. People can do both, support and let people know they are there for them if they need, and try to enact change. It’s not like they are mutually exclusive things.

I bet if your kid was shot it would be extremely helpful to you for people to show they supported you, (no matter your feelings on prayer).
