<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BrewCityBuck @ Apr 17 2007, 04:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Who knows if someone did try to stop him, a few kids could've tried and been shot....</div>Take this for what it's worth (I am a 3rd generation listener to this story), but according to friend's brother's friend who was shot 4x, there was no kind of rush at the shooter. Again, it is understandable, but when I first heard the story and heard nothing of the kids/adults fighting back I was somewhat shocked.According to him, his teacher heard some loud banging in the hall. There has been construction there for awhile, so she assumed that is what all the noise was about. She eventually ventured out to the hallway, took a few steps back into class and was shot in the back. He then went through a line of people, and then left. The kid went for the phone, and many got up to help others who were more severely injured. The shooter must have heard them, and he came back in and went through them again, shooting my firned's brother's friend in the shoulder and kneecap. Just something interesting that I thought I'd share. First time I sort of know someone so close to something as big as this.

Damn it deadsoung, tell your people to stop being so f*cking crazy. The problem was the security guards. 7:15 AM, security finds 2 people dead with gunshot wounds, no weapon found, they stupidly say 'it's a murder suicide'. Are you f*cking kidding me?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Something-To-Say @ Apr 17 2007, 05:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>The problem was the security guards. 7:15 AM, security finds 2 people dead with gunshot wounds, no weapon found, they stupidly say 'it's a murder suicide'. God, I'm tired of everyone placing blame on somebody, it's sickening. What do you mean, security guards? I'm sure the police were there investigating.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BrewCityBuck @ Apr 17 2007, 03:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Again, you don't know the situtation, you weren't there. It's FACT that security found 2 dead bodies with gunshot wounds at around 7 in the morning, and declared it a 'homicide suicide' and said it was an isolated incident. You can't defend your cop boys here BCB, they F*cked up big time.

If they thought the shooting was an isolated incident, then thats what they thought....there have been small shootings at UW-Milwaukee and they don't shut the whole campus down....it was just a terrible incident...I'm sick of people playing the blame game. Lockdown or no lockdown he still would have got into his dornroom and reloaded in time to kill more people.

The problem is that it so obviously wasn't isolated, when the murder weapon is nowhere to be found, then it's obvious the gunmen still has it, and then they say 'oh he probably left the state, don't worry about it', how stupid is that?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I can't believe, out of the 50 or so people he shot, why they didn't rush him. I am sure panic and confusion was a big reason for this, but when I heard he shot all these people at once with no kind of fighting back, it shocked me.</div>I think the easy answer is if one would sacrifice themself. Because I'm pretty sure to rush someone, you need a group of people. And it has to be a group effort, when everyone's first instinct is for there own well being and getting away. It's pretty damn hard to say rush the shooter. It takes guts and risks, two things panicked people don't possess at the time.I have to say this news coverage is getting out of hand a bit. I just don't get why news stations literally camp out and make bank on this for an entire week. This happens with almost every negative event. It's ridiculous, it just makes you think that when something like this happens, media loves it. And that's sad. The amount of positive events barely get this much coverage as the negative ones.

It is just going to get worse, you can't stop it unless if you have 5 cops at every school which won't happen. Just shows how many crazy people there are in this country.

Further info: Roommates spoke:The guy(Seung) had an imaginary supermodel girlfriend who he called 'jelly' and she 'called him spanky'. And his roommates said he almost never spoke. He also had an 'alter ego' and his name was '?'. A question mark. Obviously a disturbed individual. He stalked women, cops at one point took him to a counseling center after he told his roommates he 'might as well kill himself'.He was a loner and wrote 'disturbing material' in creative writing class. He was on some kind've depression drugs. He was found by a roommate in a dark room on the phone(I think he was on the phone with the roommate and the roommate knew where he was?) and when the roommate walked in, he hung up and denied it.

Heh I tell ya. Their a bunch of spikey headed time bombs.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>He was on some kind've depression drugs.</div>This is a whole other issue at hand but I am getting fed up with the prescription drugs in this country. I realize some people can't live with out them but how many times have you heard of some psycho path going on a rampage that is on some derpression drugs, or people having fatal reactions to some crazy prescription drug, or people just overall abusing prescription drugs. It's coming to the point where the stuff the government distributes to the people is actually more potent than anything you can get on the street. It's F*cked.

Va. Gunman Had 2 Previous Stalking CasesThe gunman blamed for the deadliest shooting in modern U.S. history had previously been accused of stalking two female students and had been taken to a mental health facility in 2005 after his parents worried he might be suicidal, police said Wednesday.http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070418/D8OJ2UOG0.html :no1: :no1: :no1:

I was watching the news this morning...Apparently this guy was a complete loner, he didn't talk to anyone or hang out with anyone....He was also weird, and submitted these morbid playscripts in his english class....I.e..where he killed his father after his father had raped him, and when he killed his teacher after she gave him bad marks....What a sick F*ck..

Originally, all I said was that it hit home because I'm a college student and you go into this philosophical rant about how death is inevitable and all that nonsense. There wasn't any need for it. Like he said, this thread wasn't about your views on death.Random site note, I had bomb threat on my campus today. Kinda scary but it was clearly some f*cking wise ass sh*t head trying be funny. Yeah there's been a quite a few of those situations at colleges around the country (more specifically university of minnesota)..I do agree that it's people trying to be funny though

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BrewCityBuck @ Apr 17 2007, 11:39 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I don't see what your annoying philosophical babble has to do with me making an on-topic point against Mardy.</div>Honestly, sometimes your just so annoying. What I said was perfectly fine, and you get so angry and start a rampage against it. They obviously shouldn't turned the other way and said "he left campus probably" and not do anything about it or go into a lockdown. Go tell the parents and loved ones of the people who died from this guy. The police handled this bad. Obviously it's going to be easier to say looking back on it, but that doesn't changed the fact that they could've done more to possibly prevent this, or at least limit the number of killings.

Conversations go where they go.This thread was just as much about my views on death as it was a place for you to fly off the handle emotionally over an uncontrollable incident you're far removed from. That said, I really do appreciate the change in tone. It's much more mature and easier to deal with rationally. Finally, I had no idea that "philosophical rant" and "philosophical babble" were the reigning terms for intelligent college students these days. Though abstract, I was talking about something very real. It's sloppy as drunk kissing. Where's the precision?

Cho mailed pictures, notes, and a video to NBC news between the shootings. I saw a video and saw a few pictures and its just more shocking how crazy this man was. Its just crazy, has anyone else seen the video or pictures?

F*ck, you kids need to start being nice. When I was in college this sh*t wasn't even a thought. Good God, this culture is going to sh*t.

That video of this homo talkin sh*t is crazy. Kid had some severe problems.

There are simply some people who are mentally deranged and kill people, and always have been. I don't get the point of your whole act of being a bitter old guy who hates young culture and current basketball and yet posts in a basketball forum with the average age being about 16 and doesn't actually talk about current basketball.

Come on, I'm not bitter but damn, back in my day, students didn't kill other students at universities. The National Guard did. Well, even I was too young for most of that though.

I realize he attention and why it is there, but all its gonna do is encourage more sick freaks to do this.
