I know. They way everyone was freakung out I thought Noah was gone for the season...2 weeks come on
Same. I was about to jump off of the Pruner Bridge (it's named after my great grandfather), and then saw that it was such a short time.

Wait... only 2 weeks? LOL. The season starts in a month. WE good.

That means he is out 6 weeks. Then he will be re-evaluated and of course you got to start working back into game shape 5 on 5 drills and such.
November some time would be good is the way i see it.

Eh. I ain't worried then.

The only thing that's worrisome is now Aminu will be our starting PF for the season. Totts won't hand the position back to Vonleh after starting Aminu for two weeks. Ultimately we'll have to go on a losing streak, Aminu will have to be injured, or Biggie/Collins will have to grossly exceed expectations in order for us to fix this problem.
It's kinda funny how such a small injury to such an insignificant player can have such a profound effect...
One step forward, two steps back.

I'm not happy he's injured of course but there's a bright side to this. We do have too many bigs if everyone is healthy. Question marks on most of them but I want to see how Meyers does, how Ed Davis does, I want Biggie to get real minutes and I think Noah is kinda the odd man out. It's not that he isn't good, he's a solid player but he isn't as exciting to me as some of the other options

Collins seems to be the odd man out here in this scenario?

Seems funny that people are actually saying "We Have Too Many Bigs" Vonleh injures a shoulder and if another rolls an ankle or the team even gets in foul trouble and they are thin. 5 guys playing 2 positions is not too many. Remember, Aminu is not a BIG. Aminu is a SF. He needs to play in his position because the Blazers need strength at the wing.

I think there going put at center at the start so he be battling Leonard and Davis as Nurk back up. PF position will be Aminu Swanigan and Vonleh you might see Collins or Davis go in that bunch.

Nurk/Davis/Leonard

Swannigan/vonleh/Collins

Aminu/harkless/layman

Those are our "bigs" center, power forward and small forward.

Funny how Brian Grant left for exactly that reason.

Would it help if I said "too many mediocre bigs, not enough good ones?"

Close but not quite there.
Mediocre or not. We have what we have. Look above.
That really isn't too many. It's just that a couple of those players need to better than they are is all.

The problem isn't too many. I'm not in favor of say combineing Davis, Leonard and vonleh for one solid backup center, Or a solid wing player, because we will have zero depth. And it has been proven time and time again in the playoffs, depth in the bigs is crucial.
Just ask gsw who lost the finals when thier big went down. They then go get depth and win. (Kd didn't hurt) but heir depth absolutely played a Factor in them winning this last season.

I think you are on the right path, but it isn't too many bigs, it's not enough bigs with real talent is he issue.
But let swannigan and vonleh and Collins and even Leonard get this season going before we assess who should be replaced with better talent?

Aminu plays better as a PF than as a SF. Unfortunately, Vonleh plays even better (still not that good) at PF than Aminu does.

I just don't really like seeing Aminu at the PF. Way undersized. He gets manhandled by guys like Griffin,Davis and even LMA to name a few. I also don't like him starting at all. Teams beg him to shoot or dribble drive. When he does they have him locked.

I don't like seeing him at either position! And him starting is even worse.

Totally agree. Aminu does have some value. He is a good situational type defender and can have nights when he makes his shots but he is not a starter in this league IMHO.
