Turkish fans/media are not happy.

I did laugh at the comment: "these votes were probably promised to him 2000 years ago"

the Jewish population in the USA is 7.7M. It isn't like China & Yao, but I imagine Deni is getting a little wind in his sails from that. I wonder how much attention Deni's performance is getting in Israel? Anybody know?

I saw some blatantly racist posts on X by people who represent themselves to be Israelis and attacking anyone who was critical of Deni's game. lol I have no doubt there is state intervention in regards to Deni's inflated all-star votes.

I laughed at comment Turkish fans aren't voting! Folks, if you don't vote you don't win.

Think I'll go vote for Deni again.

Yes. I can assure he is absolutly getting approx. 10k to 25k votes a day from Israeli fans.
How I know that?
There is a youtuber (Pini Barel), https://youtube.com/@pinibarel?si=l3vFEff7fV0w5xqK
He uploads every, and I mean every single Avdija post game analysis - approx..7-10 hours after a game.
Each video gets an average 20-40k views.
Representing a hardcore fanbase - i.e lets assume 60-80% viewers who take the time to watch every single game review, will absolutly be on board to also take the time to vote daily.

This video was uploaded 25 minutes ago and already has 3.7K views. (in 25 minutes!)

Would this give reason for him to be a starter? That would be amazing!
I doubt the new format actually allows this initial voting to dictate the actual starters on the three teams.

The way I understand it is that there will be an international team and then two USA teams that are picked by captains maybe... I'm not sure but NBA.com says nothing about East and West.

Unfortunately I doubt Deni starts because I just can't imagine him beating out any one of Luka, Shai, Giannis, Wemby or Joker (they also all have more votes than him right now but like I said I don't know if that will dictate anything)... I mean I guess maybe Wemby and there is some real redundancy in that group.

I just really hope Deni is named an all star, I'd be really excited for him and to have our team represented.

There are 5 international players that are in the top 5 of either the West or the East: Giannis, Shae, Doncic, Jokic, and Wemby.

Deni is the 6th vote-getter for international players, so I think even if he moves to 5th place in the Western Conference that he wouldn't be a starter. (Edit: that is probably impossible this year. If he did move to 5th he'd likely pass Wemby and would definitely be a starter. ) Selection is 50% fan voting, 25% media and 25% current players.

However, if one of these international players above can't play, I think Deni would be the obvious choice to be an international starter.
