What about David Stockton? Good passer, good shooter.
 
Portland actually wanted to take John Stockton with their 2nd 1st round pick in the 1984 draft, but Utah took him at 16 and we ended up with Bernard Thompson. We could have drafted Jordan/Stockton/Kersey in that draft. Best draft in the history of professional sports.
 
Stockton's a big time late bloomer. Even as a senior I thought there was no chance he'd ever sniff an NBA court, or even D-League. He worked a ton on his jumper and passing. He's always had great hands and instincts just like his dad.

Yeah, no guard in nba history under 6 foot has every been worth a darn.

Remember, we're just talking about a 3rd string insurance PG.
 
BTW, maybe someone should hire that D-League announcer, "That is going to be one highlight play that we're going to have at halftime."
 
If we sign anyone, it will be a Small Forward. PJ3 sounds the best to me of the SFs listed.

Of course, if it were me I'd probably cut Montero and sign Keith Bogans as another solid vet mentor.
 
Perry Jones is an interesting player. He started out last year filling in for Durant pretty well, at least the games I watched.
But his three point shooting stats ended up being pretty bad. (29%) So I doubt he would beat out Aminu/Harkless/Crabbe at SF.

I think the only way we pick up someone off the waiver wire is an upgrade at PG (over Frazier) or a 2/3 who can flat out score.

I wish we had room for Kazemi. I love the intangibles he brings with his hustle, D, and passing. But he isn't better than the guys we have either.

Mike Miller would be perfect. Would Denver accept a 1st-round pick?

Bogans was even worse in summer league than Montero. I don't think we need a "vet mentor" who can't play. We have coaches for that.
 
Sounds like Danny Granger will be cut by the pistons today.....Should the Blazers be interested?
 
Nothing of interest other than Upshaw. He has a very unique talent. Obviously, he also has some personal issues but of all the players waived, most of them are nothing to wave a Jack Haley towel at but 4.5 BPG in 25 minutes with a 7' 5 1/2" wingspan is clearly something you just can't get anywhere else in Upshaw.
