Still no plan to evacuate stranded Americans. Trump and Rubio fired much of experienced professionals in State Department and National Security Council, leaving positions open or filled with inexperienced unqualified toadies. They are saying events happened too quickly to plan evacuation, that they couldn't predict Iran would retaliate, that people should go home commercial when there are no commercial flights.

Believe it or not, this is a variation of a tactic that's been used in combat for centuries, like straw men or burning hundreds of campfires.
