Trump several times referred to Iran as dead. And now he can turn his attention to the biggest enemy "radical left Democrats".

Nazi propganda again..

AI review of the quote (and please feel free to factcheck this yourself and prove this comment as false);

This quote is fabricated. The claim alleges that Netanyahu was secretly recorded in a Jerusalem bar in 1990 saying "America is a golden calf and we will suck it dry, chop it up, and sell it piece by piece until there is nothing left but the world's biggest welfare state that we will create and control... This is what we do to countries that we hate. We destroy them very slowly." Snopes

Multiple fact-checkers have investigated this thoroughly. The alleged quote first appeared in a 2015 article, and there is no evidence it existed before that. Although the site that published it ("Veterans Today") claimed it was "100% fully authenticated," no corroborating evidence was found. Veterans Today has a reputation for spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories, and the claim is rated "Unfounded." Snopes

The rumor first appeared on a known antisemitic, pro-Nazi, and Holocaust-denying website. Snopes

There are also internal logical problems with the claim: the statement was supposedly uttered by Netanyahu in 1990, although he did not assume the prime ministership until 1996. Snopes

In short, this is a fabricated quote with no credible source, no audio recording, and no corroborating evidence — originating from a website with a documented history of antisemitic disinformation.

Claude AI.service.

And on a personal note: wonder how people here think when these kind of fabricated false info is constantly bombareded on these pages? Do you fact check yourslef? Do you tend to believe it?
I ask because I try to give contra to Sheldon posts but perhaps its futile or perhaps not needed as it is a consensus these are obviously false posts..
This is a patently false statement. I checked Snopes and found articles debunking anti semitic and holocaust denial and bashing Nazis and exposing their crimes to humanity. I don't know how the fuck your "AI" translator ever came up with it being a Nazi propaganda site because it's quite the opposite of that. I think you should question your fact checker....it's giving you false information. This does not help your credibility whether someone agrees with you or not but now I question your sources more than I ever did before. Who knows what a politician might have said years before taking office. I don't know if the info on him is correct or not but I do know your framing of the website is not correct.

A. you are correct. I should have specified clearer - the 'nazi prop comment' was mine and mine alone being frustrated with Sheldon view and how easily he posts blatent lies and propaganda.
B. I think you may have misread my comment - it says exactly what you say.
C. I provide some source then. That is a step better than Sheldon posting with no source. Kind of like Judge Judy's 'Thats hearsay!'. Any one is subsequently invited to provide verified sources to prove mine are false.. that is fair game indeed.

Trump claims or pretends high level negotiations but can't say with whom. When asked what goals are he said there will be regime change, which obviously Iran won't agree to. Also he, personally, will control the oil, or he "and the Ayatollah" but if there is regime change is Ayatollah still in charge? In other words he has no fucking clue.

Turkey has not lifted a finger for the Palestinians so this point is moot. This is probably the first time I've used a Turkish source, not that it matters considering what we're seeing with our own news media agencies but here you go. Doubtful American news agencies would even acknowledge this stuff, much like the right to rape protests happening in Israel.

Turkey is heavily invested in propaganda so it’s hardly a moot point. I’m not seeing your stories in world associated press articles that I follow. My Taiwanese news is not reporting these either. They have no dog in the fight but are pretty wide ranging in coverage. I want to know where the editorials are coming from so I can have the discussion with a bit of persoective

1. This is an opinion article - not a verified incidence.
2. It was published in 2024 which raises two questions on my end: a. Why post it now in this thread? b. What does it mean that an Israeli media can freely publish these sorts of opinion ads - free media? Free speech? Can you find one Al Jazeera or Gaza based media outlet reporting similiar in nature articles of any potential or actual wrongdoing by Palestinians? I beg anyone to find such thing.

Here is an honest, balanced assessment of the specific claim you're asking about:

What the article says

The Haaretz opinion piece by Professor Yoel Elizur quotes soldiers describing an incident in which "the commander suddenly starts running, grabs the boy, and breaks his arm at the elbow and his leg here. Stepped on his stomach three times and left." The commander reportedly responded to questions by saying, "These kids need to be killed from the day they are born." Middle East Monitor

Is it verified as established fact?

Not in the strict sense. Here's why:

  1. Source and nature: This is an opinion article by a psychology professor (not an investigative news report), and the incident is relayed via anonymous soldier testimony — not video, not a named witness, not an official investigation outcome.
  2. The IDF's response: The Israeli military rejected the broader set of accusations in the related Haaretz reporting, stating that "all activities and operations conducted by IDF forces in the Gaza Strip are carried out in accordance with structured combat procedures" and that "incidents that give rise to concerns of deviations from IDF's orders or ethical standards are thoroughly examined." France 24
  3. Independent verification: The allegations contained in the Haaretz reporting could not be independently verified. France 24
  4. Credibility of the source: That said, Haaretz is a serious, long-established Israeli newspaper, and the author is a credentialed academic. The piece expresses concern about the impact of government rhetoric on soldiers' conduct and frames the accounts as evidence of moral deterioration. Haaretz

Bottom line

The incident is a credible allegation reported by a serious source, based on testimony from soldiers who witnessed or heard about it — but it has not been independently verified, there is no video or named witnesses, and the IDF has not confirmed it. It sits in the category of serious, documented testimony that warrants investigation, not proven fact. The broader context of documented misconduct in Gaza does lend the account plausibility, but plausibility is not the same as verified truth.

There are no independently verified reports of this specific incident from neutral international sources like Reuters, BBC, AP, UN, HRW, or Amnesty International. It originates solely from Gaza-based Palestinian journalist Osama Al-Kahlout, aired by Palestine TV, with images shared via QudsNen, and echoed by Turkish state media (TRT, Anadolu). The "medical report" and footage are unexamined by third parties. No IDF comment or forensic analysis available yet. Claims of child abuse in conflicts require rigorous cross-verification, which is absent here.

Has anyone else noticed this thread turning into a dumping ground for off-topic anti-Israel/IDF tweets and op-eds? Curious why that keeps happening. Meanwhile — anything on Iran's current status? The ongoing war? What do you guys think of Trump's power plant threats and his sudden pivot to a 5-day negotiation window? Understand it seems as buying time.. I think of it more as climbing down the ladder..
I actually think a good chance Trump set a date to end the war and will actually commit to it.
