And the City of Portland’s endless sense of entitlement to the income of its’ residents is why I made a conscious choice to NOT live within Portland city limits. And why I choose to spend less and less time and money there. Life in general is dysfunctional enough without adding Portland’s senseless bullshit to the mix.....look what they’ve done to my town, Ma........

This particular thing seems like a strange reason to stay out of town, unless you are telling us that you are a large corporation?

US and Canada now state that the jet WAS shot down by Iran with Russian built SAMs.

It's always the innocent that suffer in a war.

ugh, i am disgusted by this news and all parties involved.

I think my point went right over your head. Those added costs will be passed on to the consumer. That’s not a sales tax I choose to support. But my bigger point is that the “brains’ in Portland city government continue to make decisions that make Portland a far less attractive (not to mention difficult) place to live or visit. I can list a bunch if you want. But if the citizens are willing (overwhelmingly) to go along with it, fine by me. I just choose more and more to avoid contributing to it whenever and wherever possible.

And I wrote, “And the City of Portland’s endless sense of entitlement to the income of its’ residents is why I made a conscious choice to........”. This latest tax just another questionable decision on a very long list questionable decisions. And again, those aforementioned taxes are paid by the consumer.

You ask a lot of good questions, Barfo. But where do YOU stand on the issue? I infer that you are a Portland resident.......?

I made a joke about it because my wife is selling two homes in NEP that her grandmother left her. I think I told the story about how my wife lived with her grandmother one year of high school.

Well, it's finally paying off. Her mother has rented them out for her for 25 years for very little rent.

Gonna be able to retire in 10 years if Iran doesn't kill me and Rose McGowan first.

Can I borrow some money?

Half of the victims were Iranian.

Nearly all, including over 60 Canadians, were college students (anti-Mullah dissidents and activists) escaping the Mullah's death squads.

A deliberate mass murder by Iran.

Financed by Obama/Kerry.

Less than 1/3 of Americans can even locate Iran on a map.

The dots located on the United States are especially mind boggling, as are the ones in the middle of the ocean. I’m guessing a good portion of the correct ones were lucky shots as well.

I’d say our education system, in conjunction with with establishment media, is in tip-top shape. No need for any of that war money to go toward education.
I'd say that the "poll question" was either deliberately strangely worded to get a ridiculous response, or more likely the pollster got totally punked by those answering him. It obviously not credible.

I think we have to ask whether Jeffrey Epstein was involved in either the earthquake or the plane crash.

Obviously, both the plane passengers and Epstein were murdered by the Deep State and their Mullah proxies.

I’d say most Americans don’t know where Iran is.

I know most people my age know, because we had geography, social studies, world politics and other interesting topics in school.

Most people are not my age, and schools don't teach much of anything anymore, so that's quite possible. But it's clear from the answers on the poll that lack of knowledge was not a factor in their answers. It's a clear "fuck you" given to the pollster, for whatever reason. The article says that isn't even the map they were shown, it says they were shown a zoomed-in area, so how did we get results all over the globe?

Nope.

So don't, that's ok. Visiting or living in Portland is not necessary the same thing as shopping at large retailers. Also, you know that large retailers are typically not located solely in Portland, so it's likely some fraction of those tax increases are being passed on to you when you shop at your local big box store anyway.

But my bigger point is that the “brains’ in Portland city government continue to make decisions that make Portland a far less attractive (not to mention difficult) place to live or visit. Yeah, I understood your rant :) And I agree with it to some degree. I was just pointing out that the example you chose as a launching pad wasn't well-connected to your complaints.

I am, and I agree there is a lot of stupidity in local government. But my belief is that that is not unusual - the larger the group of humans, the more likely that no one will be pleased by representative government, or by consensus generally, or even the results of a direct election.

The U.S. wants to fight constant war, but once the government acquires a war, it falls in love with it for 20 years, and refuses to end it so that it can start a new war. Trump should immediately appoint Bob Whitsitt as Secretary of Defense.

We just need to learn that when we meet up with a sexy new war, we need to go to our old dowdy war and tell her that it's over between us, she can have the battlefield but we are taking our tanks. Then we can take up with our new trophy war and parade about.

Pippen is the better defender!

Iran has now admitted that they unintentionally shot down the airliner on purpose.
Thanks Obama!
