T-Rob was great last night, loved it when he called out RJeff for talking smack! Robinson's toughness and grit is a blessing. Wish we had a highlight or gif of the incident, it was awesome and so was Rob:

6 Rebounds, 4 Great Blocks (2 Counted), and 8 Points in 14 Minutes.

How'd we get so lucky to get the number five (and sixth) pick in the 2012 draft? While various factors caused the trades; Thomas Robinson is a very specific type of role player at this stage in his career; a hustle player who's attributes shine in a high powered-offense where he can clean up the boards and get the tough garbage points. One day he might become a go-to option on offense but for now he's filling a much needed role on this Blazers team, a role that wasn't a necessity for the prior two squads he suited up for.

T rob will become our game changing big off the bench. I think he has the capabilities to get a rebound every 1-2 minutes and a point for every minute. He will start blocking more shots once the game slows down for him.

He definitely should've had four blocks, not two. He had the two HUGE blocks a minute or two apart, I believe, in the second quarter. Then a few minutes later, he had two on the same possession (about 2 or 3 seconds apart). Not sure how they only got him down for two, either, HCP!

I was wondering that later on in the game, when they mentioned two blocks. Thought what the hell, he had 4 in a 2 minute span.

He's got some physical attributes that are pretty elite and despite how erratic he looks at times, he's efficiency is pretty good considering how limited his opportunities have been so far.

His biggest weakness seems to be fully understanding how his play fits into the context of the whole with his teammates (as evidenced by his less than stellar on/off court numbers). But nearly 50% shooting and Per 36 numbers of 17/11 is a better than I expected for a guy that is on his third team in 1 1/4 years.

4 books? That's a lot of reading in one night.

I think he gets lost on defense quite a bit too. The team's offense efficiency numbers only modestly dip with him on the court, but they surrender quite a bit more with him out there ... though how much of that responsibility falls on Robinson isn't always easy to tease out, without looking at him on a play-by-play basis.

Yup, one of the reasons I alluded to why he was traded by two teams. Lots of learning left to do but that's the exciting part, watching it all come together. Highly doubt he'll be traded again.

If he progresses to the point where he's worthy of a starting role, some team is going to try and pay him like one when his rookie contract expires ... so I guess what I'm saying is don't get too comfortable.

If we are contending, I suspect Allen to play with luxury tax to keep the team together. If T.Rob is starting material, then we should keep him. Aldridge has about 6 years left of solid starter production. And we still don't know if Aldridge will stay (I think he is though)

Playing for a good team is probably a nice bonus for a lot of guys, but Thomas Robinson (if he ends up progressing) is going to want to get paid and play a lot of minutes. That's going to be tough if he stays here long-term. If Aldridge leaves then all of that changes of course.

I think we are assured to have him for at least another 3 years after this season. A lot can happen in 3 1/2 years. He is fun to watch. I love his tip-in slams. They happen so quick.

I'm not usually a fan of per 36, BUT I find it interesting that his per 36 is 17 ppg and 11 boards is almost EXACTLY what he averaged at Kansas.

TRob at Kansas - 17.7 ppg, 11.9 rebounds
TRob Per 36 - 16.8 ppg, 11.3 rebounds

I really like TRob. I just think he needs playing time. Sacramento and Houston will regret tossing him away after only a season.

The physical tools are there - but it's like he has never had (good) coaching. If his head catches up to his body, he can be really valuable.

One huge difference - Miles had no drive at all. Robinson is one of the most intense players on our team. He has a crazy motor. If Miles had his motor, he would have been an All-Star.
