The Democrats have swept the Republicans out and have come in to take demanding power of the house. Not to mention, the senate is even, we are waiting on only two more states. Either way it swings, the Democrats have won this election. This is going to bring some good changes, and one thing I'm happy about is the democrats will make sure to give Bush very hard time - the bastard deserves it. For those who voted - how were things at the polls? For me, they didnt even ask for ID or anything - I just told them my name, they crossed it off and thats all. Anyone could easily go in there and vote under someone elses name easily. I was surprised by that.

I hope the democrats stick to what they said they would do, if they do than things should actually get better. Bush has shown before that he can work with a democratic filled congress when he was gov. of Texas, lets hope he can do it now. what I am worried about is that the Democrats will try to find some dirt on the Bush adminstration and spend way to much time doing that than actually working on issues of government, kinda like the Republicans did with the Starr report.as for voting, I did have to show my ID but that was it.

She marched with a man who fights for rights to be with younger children. Not any children, but male children. So she supports a fight to legalize males and younger males(meaning younger than 18) to be together. Its just sickening.Also, I have a feeling most poeple dont vote for democrats, but really vote against republicans. Half the people who voted for democrats dont know most the stuff the candidate stands for.

Anyway, thank god we have control back. Thank god Donald Rumsfeld resgined. We had some very moderate and more conservative candidates running and they won. This is what got us the victory, putting political differences aside and bringing in people that are not ridiculously too liberal. Which I prefer. It was probably the only way we could win. In Wisconsin Democratic Governor Jim Doyle was re-elected and Democratic candidate for Congress, Steve Kagen won. Both were huge victories, I voted for both. I voted for Republican JB Van Hollen and he won Attorney General. Everything at the polls was smooth and quick. I'm very happy about how everything turned out. Besides I think if a person did not really care for what a candidate stood for, they'd likely not vote at all.

What I meant by that statement was, theres alotve people out there that dont know if they are Democrat or Republican, such as young voters and even the older ones(some just vote for the person they feel will make best choices regardless of party)and they see the media bashing every republican ever so they get the idea that every one is horrible. So they vote for the only other candidate...the democrat.

People are just tired of this government and they voted for change.

That makes sense to me, why would you vote for something that was more of the same?

yeah I think a lot of people just have gotten fed up with the bullsh** of politics, and when this happens the party in charge always loses. personally I think this is a good thing for the republicans, it will make them take a step back and maybe pull their heads from Phillip-Morris's ass.I personally think its stupid to vote only along party lines. because not one party has all the answeares, and we see that when one party controls all three branches of government, nothing gets done and all there is, is a bunch of bickering and scandals. I'd also like to see some third party movement that wasn't so radicle get into power some.

It sounds like something either Coulter or Malkin would say. This was a great election for those of us who would rather America be in the political middle and not pushed to the extreme left or extreme right. I?m glad that this election will essentially end the Bush presidency. He?s lame duck, and with no support in the legislature he is absolutely done. I?m a junkie for this stuff and can?t wait to see how the 08 elections will pan out. Who do you think will be the presidential nominees? Who are your realistic picks and who are your fantasy picks? I think the republicans will run McCain, but I?m not sure of a strong VP. As a result of the 06 election fiasco the Republicans are going through a transition so maybe Mccain, who really aligned himself with Bush won?t be able to win. They may need to field a candidate that wasn?t chummy with Bush to really have a chance to retain the White House.As far as the Democrats I think it will be some combination of Obama and Gore. Hillary can?t win, and they won?t run her. No way. Kerry can?t win. Gore could and Obama could. Together they would be a strong team. My fantasy pick for the Democrats would be Bill Clinton. He?d win in a landslide.

Im fearing the republicans may run Orin Hatch if McCain won't go. Hatch is one of the few redicle republicans who survived this election. as for the democrats, I hope its anyone but Kerry, or Clinton. Kerry is to much of a push over, and Clinton has to much of a socialist view.Bill Clinton has no chance at all. the twenty-second amendment forbids this, and no way would congress pass an amendment to superceed this, because George W could get re-elected than.

Calling him "chummy with Bush" is accurate if you like to ignore the fact that he was just supporting his party. McCain implied that he didn't agree with Bush's ways.

Obama and Gore? Oh lord...after what Al Gore's spewed off the last couple of years overseas...We would never win. We don't need to go backwards with Al Gore.

I think Evan Bayh would be a pretty good candidate for the Democrats. He's a moderate Democrat who is currently serving in the senate, and he's also the former governor of Indiana. A lot of analysts say that he's doing "all the right things" at the moment. Judging off the movement for moderate democrats, he'd certainly be a good fit.A lot of people are trying to promote Obama, but I don't think he'd be a very good candidate at the moment. He'd only be 2/3rds done with his first senate term, and I'm not sure if putting up a rather inexperienced candidate would be the best idea.

Obama would never win, this country still isn't ready for a black leader. I'm not saying this to be racist, Im just saying it because the majority of voters in this country are older people who haven't gotten out of the past.
