Yes, we know how it'll go:
He'll make another Robin Lopez-type (value) deal.
Several on the board will melt down.
He'll make another Aminu-type (value) signing.
Several on the board will melt down.
We'll make it out of the 1st round, but it'll take us 6 games to clinch it.
Several on the board will melt down.
We'll lose to GS in 6, losing the 6th game by 3 points.
Several on the board will melt down.
\end thread.
Some more stuff we all, deep down, know:
Regardless of our trade and Free agency dreams, it'll probably come down to internal development.... AGAIN.
Summer 2016:
We had a great year, re-signed our guys and signed Turner to a huge contract.
Season 2016-17:
Davis got injured and most all of our role players
regressed. Played really poorly, but a trade for a rejuvenated Nurk got us into the postseason.
Commentary 2016-17:
Had our role players not regressed so badly, we might have had a great season (of course we might not have made the Nurk trade....)
Summer 2017:
Drafted 2 bigs so coach wouldn't have to play Biebs anymore. We did little else, but draft a 19-yo WABC who couldn't start on his own college team.
Season 2017-18:
Davis back healthy, role players Pat and Shabazz improved, but ET still sucked, and Harkless was very inconsistent. Just when he seemed to
put it all together, he gets injured for the playoffs, and we get swept.
Commentary 2017-18:
It's become clear that we need ALL of our role players (who play) to play well to make it to the 2nd round.
Perhaps unfairly so, but
the franchise's fortunes seem to be pinned to a thin 20 year old WABC and a guy whose attitude was so bad that he was cut in the middle
of his guaranteed contract.
Summer 2018:
Even though our season will hinge on our 2nd year players, the truth is that if Neil doesn't make some sort of trade, he'll be fired before
the season starts. So, a trade is likely.
