We ALL know how this offseason will go.

Lmao. Another Aminu level roll player isn't taking us anywhere.

Let Neil know that because that’s pretty much what he’s going to go after.

Even with things I’m hopeful of (Blake Griffin) I’m cognizant of Olsheys preferences.

Blake griffin is the only Star Type Level Player we could get without including Dame or CJ, because his Contract is fucking horrible and Maybe Detroit want's him gone after a half year

While it’s fun to talk about different trade scenarios and it’ll keep us busy until the draft/FA, I think we’ve gathered enough intel on Neil to predict exactly how this offseason will play out.

Draft: This is the only place Neil might get aggressive. And by aggressive I mean he’ll move up a couple spots. He’ll draft a guy that no one really hates or loves.

FA: He’ll meet with some secondary FA on the eve of free agency. He won’t actually sign him, and will instead settle on someone else that most people will hate. Connaughton will be back because why wouldn’t he be. Olshey will mention how much he’s developed. The only players that will leave will be Layman and maybe Napier.

Then he’ll pick up some two way guys and vet minimum players that’ll excite us because we’ll be so desperate to forget how the first wave of free agency played out.

Can’t wait to bump this thread in a month.

Then 9 months later he's say he wasn't aggressive enough.

And Olshey drafted him, so Maybe he has an eye in him and the pistons Situation. I asked a Friend (pistons fan) if he would do Evan turnover + Meyers + 24th Pick + 2020 Pick top 10 protected for Blake and he said yes i would do that in a heartbeat. Because the deal would undervalue the PLAYER Blake Griffin, But not the CONTRACT he has, it gives the pistons a First rounder This year (they have no Pick this year), another First rounder in 2 years and a lot of Cap flexibilty in 2020. Thats Sounds fair imo. With Blake they win absolutely nothing and stay in mediocrity

Whats the Situation with Baldwin and Papa G? Are they on the roster Next year ? Love both

You're already melting down!

(and it's "role player" not "roll player".)

We're talking about Chief here, so I think both spellings are appropriate:

Both have non-guaranteed contracts that become guaranteed on 7/19/2018:
  • 7/19/18 — Wade Baldwin’s $1,544,951 guarantees for 2018-19.
  • 7/19/18 — Georgios Papagiannis’ $1,544,951 guarantees for 2018-19.

Yes, we know how it'll go:

He'll make another Robin Lopez-type (value) deal.
Several on the board will melt down.
He'll make another Aminu-type (value) signing.
Several on the board will melt down.
We'll make it out of the 1st round, but it'll take us 6 games to clinch it.
Several on the board will melt down.
We'll lose to GS in 6, losing the 6th game by 3 points.
Several on the board will melt down.

\end thread.
If the outcome is a loss to Gs in 6 games in the 2nd round I’d consider that a pretty good year.

I'm going to guess Baldwin for sure, Papa G maybe. If we can trade Meyers, Papa G becomes a probably.

Hell no. Do not give up two first round picks for that awful contract.

well i expect nothing from him, and it's simple, because Nobody want's to Deal with the Blazers, even hinkie couldn't make a good trade with this roster without including Dame or CJ.
That's 100% false.

I’d give up our pick this year, Turner, and Aminu for Blake. That’s a very good deal for Detroit, financially speaking. Turner will be an expiring after next season and Aminu is expiring this season. And they get back the pick they lost.

But if the deal breaker was an additional lottery protected pick, I’d probably do that too. If we’re not gonna trade CJ, we need to go for it.

Some more stuff we all, deep down, know:

Regardless of our trade and Free agency dreams, it'll probably come down to internal development.... AGAIN.

Summer 2016:
We had a great year, re-signed our guys and signed Turner to a huge contract.
Season 2016-17:
Davis got injured and most all of our role players regressed. Played really poorly, but a trade for a rejuvenated Nurk got us into the postseason.
Commentary 2016-17:
Had our role players not regressed so badly, we might have had a great season (of course we might not have made the Nurk trade....)
Summer 2017:
Drafted 2 bigs so coach wouldn't have to play Biebs anymore. We did little else, but draft a 19-yo WABC who couldn't start on his own college team.
Season 2017-18:
Davis back healthy, role players Pat and Shabazz improved, but ET still sucked, and Harkless was very inconsistent. Just when he seemed to
put it all together, he gets injured for the playoffs, and we get swept.
Commentary 2017-18:
It's become clear that we need ALL of our role players (who play) to play well to make it to the 2nd round. Perhaps unfairly so, but
the franchise's fortunes seem to be pinned to a thin 20 year old WABC and a guy whose attitude was so bad that he was cut in the middle
of his guaranteed contract.

Summer 2018:
Even though our season will hinge on our 2nd year players, the truth is that if Neil doesn't make some sort of trade, he'll be fired before
the season starts. So, a trade is likely.

Exactly!!! This is the best analogy ever! It’s Neil’s job! He can make that excuse one trade deadline or offseason... but after 5 years people need to realize he is the problem!

Why do you have to exaggerate and make stuff up again? Just stick to the facts and you have plenty of reasons to blast Olshey.

He's made two big trade deadline moves in the last 5 years (Afflalo and Nurk). He's also made a couple of nice off season trades (RoLo and Plumlee). Granted that isn't a lot of trades but you can't say he made that excuse for 5 years. People act like trades are so easy like in a video game.

He will also say “Look, I’m not just gonna make a trade to make a trade”... the same excuse for the 5th year in a row... maybe in another 5 years the perfect offer will fall into his lap as we let this mediocre cake bake and spoil
Thanks for the reminder, keep it up. You’re doing great.

I have real life friends... I don’t try to meet people in a forum like you. Why don’t you have me on ignore if you are so sensitive
Are you going to compare your jobs and how much you make next? HA! Remember you did that to me? Classic. On a side note, do you constantly say the same repetitive opinions to these so called “real life” friends? Over and over and over? God could you imagine?
“THIS RESTARAUNT SUCKS!!!”....” I HATE THIS NICE WEATHER!!!”...... “FUCK THIS TRAFFIC!”

I certainly do.
"Our forum's team insider is useless!"
"These Blazer Broadcasting replays are terrible!"
"My lawn looks like crap!"

“I RESEMBLE THOSE REMARKS!!!!”

A blow up doll isn't a real life friend. Trust me, I'm not the only one that is annoyed by your constant whining. :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:
