We control our own destiny to finish ahead of New Orleans! If both teams had gone 8-0 we both would've had .500 records and they would've had the tiebreaker.

Now if we go 7-1 and they win out we will have a minescule winning percentage advantage over New Orleans. So now they need us to lose 2 times more than however many losses they additionally have.

Technically if both us and Sacramento went 8-0 they would get the conference record tiebreaker over us. So we need them to lose 1 game for us to officially control our destiny for the playoffs.

Pels and Kings play each other twice. We want them to split.

We want whoever would have the most wins against other opponents to lose those.

I would guess we will want the Kings to win those.... but if they start putting together wins maybe you are right or we even root for NOP.

Not worried about them.
Should be. They were one of the best teams in West since AS break. They’re ahead of Pels in standings now and they play the Pels twice. It’s weird they’re being overlooked.

I really think it’s the Grizzlies who end up on the outside looking in. They have an extremely tough schedule and they’re very young. I could see them going 1-7.

Maybe not 1-7. But I could see us going 6-2 and them going 2-6. Then we'd only have to beat them once in play-in tourney. Or Pels if they go 6-2.

The thing about Memphis is Ja Morant. This is basically his sophomore season. He's due to make a jump.

lol wut? He hasn’t even played a full freshman season yet.
The shutdown didn't stop Ja Morant from growing, training, practicing, getting wiser, more confident. We're not getting March 12th 2020 Ja tomorrow. He's been off for the entire length of an offseason. I expect him to be a very dangerous player. Think Doncic' improvement from rookie to sophomore season. My opinion.

I don’t think he will be much different. At least not mvp type yet. You gotta remember Doncic went from RoY to basically MVP this year although he won’t get it, he definitely deserves consideration. Very few and super special players can do that. While Morant is good, he’s not at the same tier as Doncic. Also we are getting Collins and Nurkic back which the grizzlies have not faced yet

Nah.
