One thing I do know is that these 2 teams don't like each other. The Lakers started slow, but Bynum has been killing it since he's been in the lineup. Kobe is going to want to make a statement. I think the Lakers are going to be ready to play tomorrow so we're going to need our "A" game.

I have a feeling that Bynum and Artest will be coming after Aldridge and Wallace.

I could see this getting really ugly. Bynum laying wood on Camby, and Artest--or whoever they put in as the current hit-man--taking out Felton if he penetrates too much. I'm guessing at least one fight and ejection.

This has the 2000 season come full circle. Both teams are now top tier in the league and have something to prove. I think the rivalry is starting up again. Maybe this time, the Blazers will come out on top.

These are the games when I wish we had Oden. *sigh*

I think it's more like 89-91. The Lakers were at the top of the heap and we were ready to take over.

If the players aren't hyped, the crowd will get them there.

I'm home for the first time in forever for a Laker game in PDX. Are tix always this expensive?

For Laker games? Yes.

The RG was already going to be loud, but after last night's win you can bet the place will be rocking.

It's probably gonna be Kevin Harlan calling the game on TNT (awesome in HD, btw). Maybe I should save my $.

hm...

I don't the players are nearly as into the rivalry as the fans are. The days of teams hating each other have long past. They are all part of their own little fraternity now, separated from the rank-and-file NBA fan by income and lifestyle. Yes, they can get caught up in the energy of the crowd, but it has little to do with the players wearing Portland laundry hating players wearing Los Angeles laundry.

When's the last time you experienced a Blazers/Lakers game at the RG? Its pretty intense.

Kobe has said that he absolutely hates losing to Portland.

Yeah I was about to say the same thing. I went with Sly Poker Dog about 3 years ago and the Rose Garden was totally intense. I even had Ronny Turiaff look me straight in the eyes and tell me to "Fuck Off"

Been a while since I've been in the RG.

Gotta go sometime this season. You'd be amazed on the energy in the building. Fuck it's so addicting, that I actually planned a vacation to Portland, just to watch a couple games.

You must of done something messed up. Turiaf is one of the nicest, most genuine guys in the league.

I did. Well the whole damn team. It was nice to be able to taunt the Lakers and have a crowd back you.

This is why we brought in the JunkYardDog Twins....... Kurt & Craig!

yeah the lakers lose nearly every trip to portland and kobe is on record numerous times as being VERY agitated by it, i remember him saying something like "they always whoop our ass up there, it gets old" ...i love it!

Not to mention Magic Johnson just last year was quoted saying "They don't like us and we don't like them."

Just passed on $550 for tickets and told assistant coach to handle practice on Thursday . . . I'm going to the game!

I don't think the team is "on the way up". it's 5 games into the season, and while the OKC win was nice, lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Also, the main culprit of punkdom on the Lakers, Odom, is gone.

I don't think Bynum will do anything, because he saw how the league dinged him for the JJ Barea hit. M-W-P might try something with Wallace, but I doubt it. I don't think Wallace falls for mind games.

Seeing a blazer laker game at the rg is unlike any other non playoff game. It is so intense. The crowd is on its feet and into everything from tipoff on. You constantly feel like your in a maelstorm about to rip threw the lakers team. Iv gone to a blazers lakers game every year for the last four and even though the tickets are insanely spendy they are worth every cent.

I loved going to Laker games in the RG, especially when they win. There is just something about shutting up the obnoxious Laker fans that feels right. The nice, normal Laker fans though, are nice and respectful.

I really dislike losing to them, although not nearly as much as I did about 8 years ago. My blind hatred has lessened, so now it's just irrational.
