We can't waste this evolution of Dame

I'm totally against it, and it wouldn't be smart to go All in on a Lost season to get the 8th seed.

1. Why is Dame all of Sudden playing like the best player in the league? why didn't he play like that before when we needed him? Remember all those loses against the garbage Teams.

2. At some point he's gonna come back to earth, no way he can keep this unbelievable stretch for the rest of the Season, it's physicaly impossible, but in order to beat the Lakers in the 1st round, we need this version of Dame just to even have a Chance, because Lebron has been chilling for most part of the season and we all know, he takes his game to another level in the Playoffs.

I'm not willing to sacrifice future assets just to have 4 or 5 more games this Season. Sorry Dame, that Stretch should have come earlier when the 7th or 6th seed weren't that far away

You do realize you answered your own question by saying it was unsustainable, right? He cant do this the entire year. Lol

Folks, do the math. Getting higher than the 8th seed is pretty much hopeless - they simply waited too late to get their shit together. Giving up future assets to chase the 8th seed would be professional malpractice. If they can claw their way into the 8th seed with the current roster - great.

Knocked on wood because of this thread.

As a Blazer fan, you always know we get screwed at the worst points.

In response to #1, do you seriously expect him to average 48ppg all season? Really?

Dame has probably had this gear for the past two years or so. He hasn't needed to put the team on his back this way until this year. Up until two weeks ago, he was still trying to put others first. Finally, he just realized if we were going to make a move it was going to be on him.

Once we get him some help, you'll see him come back to mid-20s.

I think Dame’s usual mode of play before this hot streak was to start the game by trying to get his teammates going by setting them up instead of looking for his own shot. He seems to have decided now to look for his scoring opportunities earlier and then get others involved after the defense commits to trying to stop him. It’s working.

I think there's something to be said for him figuring out (deciding?) that it's not really great to telegraph that each game starts with "trying to get others involved", especially when the "others" aren't Melo and CJ, but Simons and Gabriel and Little and ...

I don't know what's going on in the locker room, but at least the public face (and on the bench) is that the team is legit hyped to see Dame go off. Even yesterday, he thought he was coming out of the game with 2 minutes left when the Bench Mob subbed in, and his teammates and coach had to tell him to go back to try to get 50. I think they're feeding off of it, and you're seeing that when he's getting doubled literally 32' from the hoop, guys are going to have wide. open. shots, and seeing them go down just instills more confidence, especially in the young guys.

"Gravity" is a thing, and Dame's getting to be a damn collapsing supernova right now.
