Morrison > Babbitt

slime vs shit = who cares? Comparing these guys is debating shades of meh

both can shoot, but neither can create space for their shot and absolutely suck on D. Luke is 2" taller though and according to the run-jump stats posted at their respective pre-drafts, vastly more athletic. Neither has done anything at the pro level, though AM has had a lot more opportunities

Go Ducks!

STOMP

Maybe we can land Chris Paul after his next microfracture knee surgery, too.

Re: We go The Stache!!!!!

OMG. For some reason, this is more depressing than Oden's injury history.

It hurts to say, but jlprk is right.... :)

I heard that Luke Jackson has gained 15 pounds of solid muscle and Olshey is offering him a 2-year contract.

Didn't anyone else think that Morrison looked pretty good in the summer league? I was pretty sure the Clippers were going to pick him up.

Really, Morrison could be a decent player if given the same role he was given at Gonzaga. Unfortunately, that will probably never happen again, at least on the NBA level, after Larry Brown crushed the kid and then saw him shipped off to back-up the best player in the NBA.

At the end of the day though, he has a natural scoring ability, and it wasn't just overblown because of his race, as some people will tell you. Hell, I remember him dropping 43 on the Spartans, with two future NBA players guarding him in Shannon Brown and Mo Ager. MSU couldn't stop the guy.

Worst case scenario, he makes the roster, never gets in the game, and is let go in the off-season. Is that really such a bad risk to be taking for a team that's unlikely to make the playoffs?

Great post. The guy can put the ball through the hoop.

Those videos show that he's an awkward dribbler. The best-case scenario for Babbitt 3 years from now is what Morrison is now, so we could save 3 years and replace Babbitt with him.

He has to be better than Pavlovic......right? I do not think he is better than Babbitt though

Love his answers:

I hate how the title of this thread makes me break into a Go-Gos song parody every time I read it.

"I get to play basketball for money, and that's pretty good." Indeed.

It was much worse when "We go Thabeet!"
We got Thabeet! We got Tha-beet! We got Thabeet!

Crap, now it's in my head too. Gonna have to play the Good/Bad/Ugly soundtrack again.

Idont get all the hate. The guy is a zillion times better than Thebeat and all the other garbage we jettisoned. He can shoot the three, and I believe that last year that was in short supply when really needed..

Well, he is stained with the Laker Purple and Urine... ;)

Like I said, he'll help more than Babbitt, due to experience. Whenever Babbitt is put into the game, it's an experiment. When Morrison's put in, you expect serious play. Will Stotts run plays specifically to get Adam shots?

true

Does anyone know of an additional source that Ammo has actually received a one year deal? Blazers aren't saying anything about it, just that he is on the training/preseason roster.

Its reported that way on ESPN, says nothing about a roster spot. Usually guys get training camp invites and are only paid for the two weeks or whatever.

Former Gonzaga star Adam Morrison has signed a one-year deal for the league minimum with the Portland Trail Blazers, according to his agent.

The forward played in Turkey last season, averaging 11.8 points in just 22 minutes per game.

Drafted third overall by Charlotte in 2006, Morrison spent 2½ seasons with the Bobcats before being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers midway through the 2008-09 season.

Morrison was on the Lakers' roster for two championships after being dealt to L.A. with Shannon Brown for Vladimir Radmanovic, but the 27-year-old has not been a rotation player since suffering a serious knee injury that cost him the entire 2007-08 season.

Low risk, probably low reward. If he gives anything it's gravy. If not, no great shakes. He's probably still got some home town fans. A slightly better Dan Dickau move. I'm neither thrilled nor chilled.

Re: We go The Stache!!!!!

So he played for the Nets in Orlando Summer League and for somebody else in Vegas, now us in camp. What happened to this guy? They obviously didn't see anything the liked.
Maybe he picked Portland over those others because he knows he's got something to prove to you, Mr. HCP!
