in the meantime, LADSN, has been showing clips of Koufax's Legendary games.....

along with a new 30 minute Koufax interview, every night,.........from what he see's in Kershaw, and other current Pitcher's, as well as old stories of yore'..... but....BUT....I'm already getting sick of this network, literally bleeding Bums Blue......

and Lasorda is still an asshole, its now obvious, over the top obvious, Lasorda is a broken record, and IMO, is suffering from Dementia....he looks bad, real bad.....but I never was a fan of the fkr.....
 
I watched game 6 of the 81 Series.....last night...~ I still ask, as Cossell said: "they will be talking about taking Tommy John out early, for years to come"....try efffing decades, I still don't/didn't like the call, then or now....

Watching Dave La Roche, throw his eephus pitch was a effing joke too....

The part I forgot during the game, the camera showed a young vibrant Dorothy Hammel.....Cossell said to Drysdale, "your still dating her aren't you Don"?.....Don: No.......No......No.....(I think they pulled the plug on Cossell about that time, he seemed intoxicated).....

I recall reading, how Howard, (after his MNF, "running like a little monkey" comment, got Howard Fired), a tell all book, with Gifford, and Meredith, on Howards drinking during games, to a point, he would only be calling the 1st Half of MNF games only, as he was too intoxicated to go beyond Half Time, a MNF-TUI....(talking under the influence)...

...lol...never heard that before...doesn't surprise me though.
 
...no, I remember the "monkey" thing...what I'd never heard before was the thing about Howard getting drunk during games.

ah, ok, ..... yes, in fact, Cossell's drinking problem was getting too apparent with the execs.....IMO, I think that got him shit canned moreso than the "little monkey" call, or perhaps the call was the straw the exec's were waiting for to off Howard.....

It didn't seem as apparent back then; as it sure does today, when an old classic game is shown on TV, with Cossell at the mic...slobbering all over himself, straying from the game......

In fact, that 81 W.S. game 6, several times Howard would make a open statement, for the others to comment on, and the others would go on talking as if they didn't hear a word Howard said......!

I can visualize this one pretty easily, I also read how much Dandy Don despised working with Howard, and I guess this could explain why? LMAO.....Don loved his expensive Cowboy Boots.......bwahhahaaa.....
