Wehby

The court date has already passed. Did Wehby lose her license for being one of many physicians named in the court filing? She didn't even have to testify, so far as I can tell.

War on Women, Oregon style.

How is that a war on women? Be honest, if Wehby were a democrat you would be outraged.

I'm hoping Sly is moving the posts from the other thread, but I do have a question.

Should all pediatricians in Oregon also screen the parents of the kids that enter their practice for mental problems?

Or, should the state of Oregon screen foster parents/adoptive parents before they even get the kids?

I haven't posted a thing about Merkley on this board, and he votes with Obama almost 100% of the time.

Who are the other doctors who were duped? Sounds like there were many of them. What are their political affiliations?

I hope the state does some sort of screening before they are given kids.

From what I understand Wehby does an unusual/very specialized/slightly controversial form of spinal surgery on children with bladder control problems. It would seem to me, not a medical doctor, that a mother presenting 3 unrelated children that require the same rare medical treatment should have raised alarm bells with Dr Wehby.

None of them are running for political office. If they were, dem or pub, I would expect the press would bring this up.

Do you know how much of being a doctor is guesswork, and how malpractice suits for either performing the wrong surgery, or not performing the surgery, weighs and cost doctors?

Based on your criteria, Greg Oden should sue whoever performed micro-fracture on him, since now in hindsight it may have been unnecessary.

This is a non-issue for reasonable people. Other respected doctors were duped as well. It's hard to account for "crazy" in any risk-management scenario. I assume that my daughters' doctors took what my wife and I said about our daughters symptoms seriously, and I hope they still do to this day. Kids aren't going to give a 5-minute detailed self-diagnosis on what they think is wrong with them. This entire thing is ridiculous to me as a father who trusts what my daughters' doctors are doing, even though there really is no set protocol on how to treat it.

I think you're over your head here, and that you're arguing just to argue. I know that ToB and you are real people with real lives; I can't say the same about jlprk and barfo, so sorry if I'm coming across as harsh.

This is a non-issue for reasonable people.

It's part of a pattern of very bad judgement:

1) doing brain surgery on kids that didn't need it
2) stalking 2 different guys
3) being a republican

Well, this pretty much ends any reasonable discourse. Why is this guy still a mod?

He's not a mod of the Blazer forum. I'm not sure what forum he mods on S2.

Neither am I! But by god it must be horribly moderated, given my political beliefs.

He's a "global moderator." I assume that means he can moderate all forums?

Global just means he moderates more than one forum but as a rule we do not let non Blazer mods moderate the Blazer forum.

Actually I can't recall Barfo doing any moderating in the Blazer forum for years now but he does occasionally give very good advice in the secret Blazer moderator forum.

Perhaps the the doctor has done something wrong here. I should think that charges should be brought if that is the case.
I see Sly says the procedures done on the children were unnecessary, but who is deciding this to be the case?
What I do see here is people (Budnick) taking a mighty swing at casting doubt about a Senate candidate. What the hell is his political party?

As far as the Oregon Health plan is concerned, I am surprised that Sly even mentions this as being in the game with the doctor opposing the Obama Care.
The Oregon Health Plan is completely different as it is run by a State which is completely within the powers a State has. A Federal Program is an entirely different matter as
their is no mention of Insurance or Healthcare being the business of the Congress in the Constitution. Therefore the 10th amendment says things not mentioned belong to the States.
Democrats seem to always mention Romey Care in the same way to try and make Republicans look hypocritical, Romey Care good, Obama Care Bad, Oregon Health Plan good, ObamaCare bad.

No it is things working under the proper government as they should. This doctor being paid by the Oregon Health Plan is just fine. If she is guilty of fraud for performing unnecessary operations
then by all means, chuck her butt in the jail, forget about the Senate. But damn let us see some evidence instead of near slander.

Sly knows that the polling shows this smear isn't working on Wehby. The stalking thing didn't either, which is why it went away quickly. Oregon hasn't had a female senator since Maureen Neuberger in the '60s. All Oregon Democrats that have had any power in the last 20 years, outside of Vera Katz, who was only a mayor, are white males.

The Democrats in Oregon are terrified that the first Oregon US woman elected to the Senate in almost 50 years is going to be an educated Republican. It's even made a hardcore Democrat like barfo come up for air, and then to shout down the possibility.

I don't know about that Sly! Look at his name , you have to wonder.

And all Oregon Republicans that have had any power in the last 20 years are imaginary.

That's pretty funny. But since you say you believe everything you post, it's also pretty sad.

You're not at all funny when you're angry. Has the internet passed you by? Are you a Global Moderator Emeritus?

I like the idea of an educated female senator from Oregon. I'm going to start looking into her more (like my vote counts anyways).

Do find it a funny that voters on the right are willing to excuse the fact she has had two police reports accusing her of stalking. How many people on this board has had even one person going to the police alleging allegations against them (those are sworn statements to the police punishable as an offense if they are lying) . . . much less two, with both being the same allegation. Enough for me to think she has a psycho side to her, but not enough to completely discard considering to vote for her.

But be honest, if two people went to the police and filed police reports against Obama for stalking, this board would be all over him, some saying that means he should be impeached. Heck one police report would put many over the top.

Both her and Merkley say that should not be an issue in the election, but I suspect it will be. But I also think voters won't just stop there, they will look at the whole picture for both of them.

A Republican senator from Oregon . . . maybe
