I'm not really one to go batshit crazy just because you're a female. But you are a Blazer fan which is awesome and for that I say welcome and hope you have fun here. :)

you obviously took what I said the wrong way. I was making a judgement on how the guys here responded to your posts, and nothing about what you posted or your cred or your fandom.

and we've seen enough people come and go here that the, apparently, old fart term of "honeymoon period" is appropriate.

you're correct. i didn't mean for my comment to come as an attack. i apologize for that.

i know there are guys out there who think no girl could could ever know more than them about basketball, then we do & they have no clue how to respond other than to attack. not worried about that.

no harm done. I don't care if a woman knows more about sports than I do. There are plenty of women who know a lot more about stuff than I know. It doesn't bother me in the least.

I may use old fashioned sayings, but I'm not a 1950's man.

Kass, again, welcome to S2. Overall, it's a great place to discuss Blazers. Sooner or later, you might even venture over to the OT board. Heh, its a real hoot. ;)
 
I don't understand the idea that because of someone's gender, it would make them less knowledgeable about a subject like basketball. Minstrel, CajunGolf, crandc, et. al., have been contributing quality posts on Blazer forums since these venues began.

In other words, PDXKass, expect to be treated no different than anyone else. When you make a good post, you'll get repped; when you make a stupid one, you'll be ridiculed.

It's one thing to write your posts casually. I do that all the time, and I overuse ellipsis, but the way you've introduced yourself to the forum, I have no reason to believe that you go to Stanford nor know jack shit about basketball. If the former is true, then I really feel sorry for everyone who was rejected in the admissions process, and if the latter is true, then you should probably show it before relishing in a 100+ post thread devoted to yourself.

I was always under the impression Minstrel was a she. Regardless, my point was that gender doesn't really matter on an anonymous forum.

Hell yeah! Ronan was cool! I just want us to have a shit ton of new posters. I'd even like more from other teams. The more opinions the better, if you ask me.
 
I dig Kass here for a few reasons, another poster, hoop knowledge, good at taking and dishing out, but one of the reasons is also that she's a chick. Chicks who love basketball are fun and interesting, and bring a slightly different perspective. This is not just a community of sports nerds (although it is that too) it's a community of friends. Crandc is the only woman who posts on here regularly that I know of, and she brings some wonderful bball knowledge and a different perspective. Kass may do the same. Celebrate chicks, don't fear them or diminish them

Eh. "Celebrate them" implies we should treat them differently than the rest of the posters. It doesn't matter if they are chicks, if they're stupid they're stupid and if they're annoying they're annoying. They can and will be celebrated or diminished as their knowledge sees fit.
