I've never been a huge Dirk fan...respect his accomplishments but line them up and choose teams, I take Drazen over Dirk all the time..Drazen hadn't even peaked when he died in that car wreck.

I love Nurk but if Drazen had lived longer, he's probably the best European player to ever enter the NBA in my opinion...he scared Michael Jordan....we should have never traded that dude. Never saw a better shooter unless it was Pistol Pete and Drazen might have bested him ...he was really, really special.

To me, the worst trade the Blazers made was trading Petro (even though it ended up that Petro was non to pleased about his playing time OR the city). I wish Adleman had found time for him, as he would've been much better for the team than Walter Davis.

Still hate how they traded Petro for Davis, only to waive Davis the next year (in favor of Robert Pack). Hell, Davis was brought in to help in the playoffs and he didn't.

like I said, I never liked his game much....when he was young I thought of him the way people think of Meyers...why doesn't he play defense or rebound, block shots or post up...he was a 7 foot shooter....amazing shooter, but not great handles and terrible defense...as he got older he changed it up a bit but Drazen had it all....amazing technique....two way player...score anywhere in anyway...Dirk shot from deep most of his career. More of a Reggie Miller legacy to me.

Im Blazers fan, but as a proud Bosnian, I was over the moon when Nurkic came to POR, and so was our country, cause our love for our national sport teams and its professional athletes is second to none!

dont know if you knew, but theres nine hour difference beetwen Portland and Bosnia, so its 2:30 PM here right know, but when POR plays at home, its 4:00 or 04:30 AM here, and whole country stays up watching our NBA players, Nurkic and Teletovic

Let me say first--your English is magnificent, and I love the fact that you even use common idioms like "over the moon" and "second to none". You must have had an excellent teacher, or been immersed at a young age.

Please, go forth and spread the Rip City gospel throughout Bosnia--we would love to have more of your countrymen posting throughout the day (while most of the Americans are asleep). Would give us early risers (I'm usually up at 4am Portland time) something to read and respond to while the rest of the fans in Portland are still sleeping off their Nurkic-fever-induced hangovers!
