Hillary Clinton and Bill Richardson.

Change We Can Believe In!

Well, I think Clinton will be a very good Sec of State. She's smart & tough.

As to Richardson, he hot his post by stabbing his old friends (Clintons) in the back. He's a political leper.

When you're finished changing, you're finished.

Meet the new boss; same as the old boss.

Ummm ... it stands to reason that Hillary Clinton and Bill Richardson will have drastically different ideas and goals and strategies than Condi Rice and Carlos Gutierrez.

I'm confused at how people would construe that as "not a change."

Hillary and Condi are both women, and Bill and Carlos are both Latino. That's not change, that's more of the same.

The only change a President can effect is who they appoint to their cabinet. After that, their job is over. Obama has clearly proven that he will do nothing different, because he's appointed people we've heard of before!

Unless Obama does something else over the next four to eight years, his Presidency will have to be judged a failure.

I'm pretty sure the righties were going to complain about his cabinet picks regardless of who they were.

I've got no real beefs with his picks. In my book, he's entitled to choose who he wants and to get them approved by the senate.

It does speak volumes about "change" being a lie tho.

It's hilarious because the same people saying "omg wat happnd to change?!?!" are the same ones who would be flipping out if he was picking a bunch of unknowns for such high powered positions.

I remember making several posts about "change" being "change back" (and to something not all that great).

It's ok, tho. I'm used to the democrats lying their asses off to get elected and then people apologizing for them after it's clear they lied. It's hilarious.

You make no sense. Change back is still change.

If people wanted a Clinton third term, wouldn't they have voted for Hillary? Barack Obama was promising "change" and "hope" from the politics of the past. Instead, he's offering nothing more than a carbon copy of the Clinton Administration, with the copy setting just a little darker.

The differences between Hillary and Obama were very minor. They had the same ideas, just different details, and only on a few issues. Obama won because he campaigned better.

The Clinton administration was the most scandal ridden in my lifetime - even worse than Nixon. Why bring any of those people back?

Richardson is great, tho.

I don't know why he's doing it, but shouldn't we wait til he actually starts governing before we proclaim him Clinton 2.0?

BTW, I said all along that Obama was running the same campaign as Bill Clinton's in 92, so none of this is surprising me at all.

So "same" means "not change."

Glad you admit it.

Holy inconsistency, batman! So you are willing to give Richardson a pass, but all other members of the Clinton administration are tainted by that association?

What makes Richardson so special? What makes everyone else guilty?

No you weren't, you're just trying to be a wise guy.

You're right. I am used to being lied to by democrats and for people to apologize for them after the fact. It's hilarious ;)

He's bringing a LOT of big names. These are all guys that we've heard before. Richardson, Napolitano, Daschle, Clinton.

I don't like Holder. This is the guy that tried to keep DC's absolutely unconstitutional and disgraceful handgun ban in place, and was one of the ones behind the raid for Elian Gonzales. You know, the one where a bunch of INS agents with machine guns pointed at the boy and the adoptive father with the cameras flashing scaring the kid half to death. Brilliant.

Yes, change from the tremendously unpopular Bush administration. If you were expecting something more, then I don't know what to tell you.

He said he was going to not only change from the Bush administration, but change the way Washington works.

So far he's bought in Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Tom Daschle, Bill Richardson, Rahm Emanuel, and Eric Holder. He is expected to keep Robert Gates on. All Washington guys.

True, but he's not in office yet so we have no idea how things are going to work. You guys are jumping the gun.

Well, if Obama "institutes socialism," I hope you all will remember nothing has changed, because you've heard of his cabinet appointees before.

Obama's a radical Marxist and we're a completely capitalist society. It's an outrage! In addition, he's exactly the same as everyone else. He's going to destroy this country with extreme socialism, the likes of which this country has never seen before. Plus, his cabinet appointees show it's going to be politics as usual. We're going to resemble Europe. But he won't change anything.

Conservatives have definitely changed. They used to have a monotonously consistent set of talking points. Now they can't make their talking points agree.
