Yep, probably, but we still had to add our pick so in principle it's Plumlee plus Jackson (or whoever we were going to grab at 15) for Nurkic and Collins.
Fair trade ;)

I just hope he doesn't turn into Meyers, god dont let him be Meyers...

Except Zach will be what we wanted Meyers to be--I'm not worried.

Plot Twist: The reason everyone was so high on Meyers and subsequently disappointed is because parts of life are pre determined and we knew our PFOTF would come deliver us, but we confused Meyers with Collins, so when Meyers didn't play like Collins we took it as if we were lied to.

^kidding, obviously.

Meyers is going to blow up.

But it'll be three seasons from now, and then he'll bounce, and he'll reference S2 with a big "F U!"

Insane question: if Collins does in fact have the foot speed necessary to effectively defend the perimeter, and is able to demonstrate effective NBA 3-point range, what more would Collins need to be able to do in order to be theoretically passable at small forward?

I wouldn't confuse not embarrassing himself on the perimeter with being able to consistently defend it. It's like Aldridge. I felt comfortable when he got switched onto a guard, but I wouldn't ever want to get used to it.

There's a reason I said "if".

I'm not saying he can or he can't, but "if" he could defend the perimeter effectively and consistently, is there a specific reason he couldn't play the 3?

Meyers could have his Cinderella Man season......who knows?
I want what your smoking! Nah but in all seriousness, I would love for meyers to turn into the player we drafted him to be... I just dont see it. If he had it in him he would have displayed more than a glimpse every 15 games. Its just not in the cards for him. I'm over the Meyers experiment

I knew that question would come up before long. I imagine the team will try it at some point... What made me think of it around the draft was comparisons to Rasheed. We tried him at the 3, hoping to gain a height advantage and find room in a crowded front court. It usually just put him in early foul trouble.

Myers podcast that he is on he has hire him basketball trainer to work with him in Southern California 6 days a week so I guess will see how he does.

Would love to see the Blazers 'go big' at some point and make other teams adjust. Vonleh is a very solid perimeter defender and what if, Collins had enough foot speed to at least be competent guarding a SF? It's not like outside of Aminu, this team is loaded with defense on the wings. Nurk/Vonleh/Collins front-court?

Bad Boys 2.0

I haven't watched him play but o will say this and maybe someone can help me. There are 2 kinds of foul prone, 1 is from just being lazy and not moving feet and the other is from being scrappy. Scrappy/aggressive I can live with, the other is Meyers.

He got a lot of bullshit called against him in college when he was completely vertical. The NBA will let him get away with most of those.
